With that said, you Yankees stay safe. My word of advice: Poptarts. Poptarts save lives during hurricanes. They don't have shelf lives, they have half lives. And if you're desperate for hot food, plug the poptart machine into the generator

Just to add, the snow in the South is different. It's heavy, wet, and usually covers ice, which makes it very dangerous to drive on.

I lived in Denver for 3 years and the snow there is nothing. You can brush it off of your car with your hand and it's not hard to drive in. The snow I experienced in NC was almost always a half snow/half ice mix.

So it doesn't stay in the single digits for a month at a time, that doesn't mean we don't see four seasons in the South.

We have a true Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter ... - a **** ton of snow.

It still gets cold for month's at a time in the winter. Actually, last year's winter was the warmest I remember in a LONG LONG TIME. It constantly gets cold enough for it to snow, but the way the weather and fronts usually turn, most precipitation doesn't make it's way South during the Winter. That's really the only major difference.

Sounds no different than the snow here in NE Ohio.

But yeah, pretty sure that's because of the Lake Effect.

I think it's worth mentioning that the weather is a bit different in both Florida and Louisiana than it is with the rest of the Southern States.

Wet snow happens everywhere.....We get it up here from time to time along with black ice.

I miss just having 2 seasons, really hot and just nice.

I've found in Tally it's hot, really hot, kinda nice, then really cold(for me at least).

For me personally, anything less then 50 degrees. Nights in the winter here are deadly, mid-high 20s it's terrible cause you're not really dressed for that walking out a club or bar.

I'm the guy that'd rather be sweating then freezing my *** off outside

50 degrees.......they break out the hat, scarf, gloves and coat. Turn the heater on and be like oh crap it is FREEZING out there.

Well, different strokes, I guess. And for the record before anyone asks, 95 and up is when I consider it hot.

Not going to lie, I don't even put on a jacket unless it is 40 degrees. Mid to low 30s I would put on a coat. 20s I put on a hat and gloves. I remember as a child growing up every time one of my southern relatives would come up to Chicago to visit, it would be 53 degrees outside and they would put on a heavy coat, gloves and a winter hat.

I was looking at them like what you all doing as I walked outside with no coat on. They were like boy you going to catch your death out there, it's freezing up here. No it's not.......people outside playing basketball......girls outside jumping rope...women walking down the street in daisy dukes and skirts.

It was the same way when I stationed in the south in some of those southern states. People use to bug out when it got in the 50s like they were about to die.
