When I heard her husband died on Christmas Day from Cancer...it just did something to my heart.

More power to her. I have no problems at all with this story. It's a feel good story. Wish she dropped the second guy too.

I don't know if it was mentioned in the video piece, but I read an article by NPR that mentioned that the other would-be robber is being implicated with murder in the other man's death.

Now there's this legal twist: According to The Oklahoman, "the dead man's [alleged] accomplice in the home invasion is being implicated in his death." Authorities say Dustin Louis Stewart, 29, was with Martin and was also trying to break into the home.

Granted she killed a scumbag but I have a feeling she will have to live with the horror of the robbery/killing for the rest of her life.
I have no idea how you would call it a feel good story.I am sure she will be an emotional wreck for a very long time.

For the record I only liked this for the COD comment, shooting a guy without hesitation as soon as they set a foot inside the house dang that requires some courage but she also had the maternal instincts going on.

Props to her, have to do whatever you can to protect your house or family in that situation. Sad story that she lost her husband so soon near the Holidays as well.

That's a very interesting twist, but it sort of makes sense.
Which means the dead-man's family can now sue him too.

So sad to hear her husband died from cancer on Christmas Day.
She and her son will already have negative thoughts over the Holidays and now this idiot will give them even more to think about.

Poor woman. Is there any kind of charity fund for her and her child?

EDIT: Just read another news article that states both her dogs were found dead as well.
But it doesn't say if it's related to this break-in.
Man, this woman needs to be cut a break.
It sounds like the community is helping her out. That's awesome to see.
