Job Search Question (Companies that take new graduates)

I am graduating in May with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. (Business Management and Administration and Marketing minor) Last month I started to look for careers for after I graduate and I constantly run into the same problem...

When most companies actually have a job posted, they are looking for someone with 2+ years of professional experience. However, some organizations (ie Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Puma) have a section specifically made for entry level jobs.

Off-hand do any of you know any organizations like this? I am constantly searching for jobs but I thought I would stop here and ask if any of you know any companies similar to the ones I listed above.

    Thanks!

Re: Job Search Question (Companies that take new graduates)

Most major companies do have people designated to pull newly graduated people. some companies might not have a specific section on their website, but most employ a "campus recruiter" or "college recruiter".

My advice is to hit up linkedIn and search for people who are college recruiters in the area you live (Illinois?) and that should give you most of the companies in the area who look for new grads. From that point you can try and find an email of that person through google, or try and call the company and ask for that person, whatever it takes to get your resume to them.

I don't know of any organizations like the ones you described. My advice to you is to look at internships as well. You might have to take a weak job for the first couple of years to get your feet wet and gain a little experience.

I used LinkedIn, Indeed.com, and Simply Hired for my job searches. I also signed up with two temporary employment agencies and not only got some temp work in the 2+ months I was unemployed, also got my foot in the door with some decent companies in case a full-time job lined up.

It's true what they say that looking for a job can be a full-time job in itself. When I got offered a job last week, all of my stress that had been building for the past few months instantly went away.

Appreciate the tips, definitely some good ideas on how to utilize linkedIN.

Just posted my resume on Indeed WazzuRC-Hopefully they are different than Monster/CareerBuilder. I only get offers from insurance companies from those websites.

I definitely realize I might have to start an internship first. I have had 5 during college so I was hoping to skip past that part. I am just looking to get the weight off my shoulders so I can focus on my last semester of school.
