    Amazon WebPay vs Paypal?

Haven't seen any threads on this, but has anyone used Amazon WebPay? It's basically Paypal, without any fees.

I'm going through a "Temporary Hold" with Paypal which is complete BS. Ordered a laptop, they didn't have certain parts to complete is, and refunded the payment almost instantly, now Paypal wants to "Hold" my refund an undefined amount of time.

I've been a Paypal user since 1999 I believe, but this may be my last transaction with them.

Anyone use Amazon webpay? Thoughts on it?

I am on the PayPal Temporary hold list where PayPal holds my money for 21 days or less after every transaction. This happened last week. Like you Will I've been a long time member, no issues and over 400 transactions on eBay and 100% feedback. They put me on there after my iTunes account was hacked and they used PayPal to make payments. Everything ended up being reversed but a couple weeks later this popped.

I'm also exploring different means of online payments.

What do you mean, they have a list? What on earth?

Apparently, they are holding my money until the payment from Chase gets to Paypal, and then the money will be in my Paypal Balance... so now I sit and wait. This is absolute garbage. I can't imagine being on a 21 day hold list. How do you check that list? Do they notify you?

I'm done with Paypal, after many years of much buying and selling, allowing them to draw interest and obtain fees from each transaction... I don't care if I have to go back to cashiers checks, hah.

This is ridiculous. Let me know more about the list Altimus... definitely interested in that.

        Re: Amazon WebPay vs Paypal?

Here you go. This is straight from my account.

When some sellers receive payments, we may hold the money in a pending balance for up to 21 days to help make sure that there are funds in the seller's account to cover potential refunds or claims. The funds may be released early if PayPal determines that the transaction has been fulfilled and customers are satisfied.

While funds are pending, the money belongs to you but isn't available to spend or withdraw.

If payments on your account are held, we'll notify you. PayPal will re-evaluate your account every 35 days and decide whether or not to continue holding payments. If we decide to stop holding future payments, we'll contact you.

The funds from each transaction will typically be released 21 days after payment, unless there's a dispute, chargeback, claim, return or reversal on that transaction, or any other limitation on your account. The money may be released sooner if:

Your buyer leaves positive feedback (Applies only to eBay items) or
We can confirm that the item was delivered* and 3 days elapse. This gives the buyer enough time to review the order and file a dispute if necessary
This policy hit my account on the 29th of January. I never had any issues on PayPal and my feedback as mentioned is 100% with over 400 transactions. My rating system is also around 4 and a 1/2 stars per category.

The only issue was what I mentioned above. To me this is absolute BS. So while they earn interest on my money I play the waiting game.

That's terrible dude. I hate that for you. I'm ticked off that I have to wait 3-5 business days for the funds to move from Chase (My bank account) to Paypal in the first place.

My argument is, they can send money from Paypal to the Seller/Business Instantly as a courtesy to the seller, so they have their money, so they have the ability to provide the same courtesy to a buyer. They know the money is coming from my Bank, I've contacted Chase, and they can't cancel the ACH transfer... so now unless Paypal will remedy this by providing me a courtesy, then I'm stuck w/o the funds for several days.

          Complete crap.

What other options have you looked at?
