Thank goodness buddy. I couldn't imagine going through the same things with my father.

Side note, do you ever create a happy thread? Every time I see a thread created by you something awful has happened.

I hear you. It has been a ROUGH month, to say the least.

First, we are having our pregnancy highly monitored... Then, my dad almost died... And when I got home from this, my wife told me that her grandmother, who she is extremely close to, is losing her battle with cancer. She could have just days left. She didn't tell me when I was with my dad in fear of me not being able to handle it.

I am an extremely positive guy... But it has been a rough stretch with a lot of storms.

Hopefully I'll post more happy threads soon.

I hope so.

You know... The heart attack was terrible. But... Maybe it needed to happen. I hate saying that and I hate even more to think that, but my dad needed something to get his attention. Like I said before, his quality of life should go up - medical issues and all. No more smoking, better diet, and exercise.

That's the thing that is hard to get across to my mom. She is worried and rightfully so, but it will be good for her as well. She will eat more healthy and will hopefully exercise with him as well. She is not overweight at all so maybe the same risks are not there with her, but it will good for her to make some lifestyle changes as well. After time, it will become second nature.

I will say that the cost of medication in this country is CRIMINAL. A five day supply of a diabetes shot cost my parents $703. FIVE DAYS, and that is WITH insurance. How does crap like that fly? Hopefully he'll be off of that medication soon, because despite the healthy income that they have, that will eat through it pretty damn quick.

There is a lot of truth in that, some people don't get the message until they're hit upside the head. The whole medication thing is such a huge racket as well. Stay strong man.

For sure. It's scary how some businesses can practically hold us hostage with having what we need but can't afford.
