    Free Antivirus?

Is there anybody out there that uses a Free Anti-Virus program that actually does a decent job? Or do I just have to knuckle up and purchase a Anti-Virus to be secure?

Thanks for any and all advice.

I use the free version of AVG, here's the free download. I like it, and it's pretty easy to use.

Hmmm, Thanks. I had AVG free trial and couldn't find a link to a free version of it. Much appreciated.

Absolutely. Hell we use MSE at half of our (cheap) clients.

IMO no one should ever pay for AV software on their personal machines. Plus Norton, McAfee etc seem to do more harm than good in terms of the usability of your PC. They are way too intrusive IMO.

Avast is great if you aren't paying for one.

I have a year or so left on my Norton so I use that. But on my gf & sons pc they use Avast and have had no problems.

I last used AVG 2-3 years ago and remember it starting to get too bloaty, don't know if they made it any better recently.

MSE here too. One of the best out there period, free or paid. I usually recommend it to everyone that needs protection. Haven't had any issues with my computer at all and it's not as annoying as a lot of the other AV programs.

I use Avira, but dumped AVG recently too.

Avira and Malwarbytes is all one needs.
