Getting connections is probaly the hardest and most important part. As of now the only "connection" i have is a young assistant coach at harvard that my uncle is good friends with, i can only hope he makes it big time lol.

A lot of GMs start off as scouters or video coordinators.

As of now my plan is to get into a big time football school with my grades(football scholarship would be nice but Im not the greatest player) and get on the coachong staff as a student assistant preparing scout tapes or something like that. Once I graduate I should know some people by then. Hopefully then I can get my foot in the door with an NFL team.

Probably try to get into a good undergraduate business program in a good sports town and try to get an internship with a professional sports franchise to start.

Also take advantage of all your opportunities. This afternoon I actually had a chance to meet the President of the Cardinals and the CMO and EVP of the Rams talk about careers within the sports industry.
