It's not that I'm afraid of heights. I just don't trust ladders at all. I feel like they will snap down the middle, or tip off to one side.

Who else is afraid of ladders?
Sorry, but they scare me ****less if I go up more than three or four steps on one. My knees just start shaking and I can't help but look anywhere except through the skinny area between the sides.

Re: Who else is afraid of ladders?
I'm terrified of heights, which also translates to ladders. I don't even like the two step ones. I'll use a ladder to paint, but that's about it. I've never been in my attic because I really don't trust the wood ladder going up there.Comment

I'm afraid of heights so I try and avoid ladders. I get scared about the 3rd step. I'm a big baby with heights.

Re: Who else is afraid of ladders?
When I was younger I would go to Coney Island in Cincinnati and there was a water slide that you have to climb up a ladder to get on. About 10 steps I think. I hated that ladder and it was always full of other kids in front of you and behind you, so once you got on it you were stuck for a little bit.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

That's what gets me too. I'm fine with climbing them (up to a certain extent), but when it's time to actually take one foot off and get on the roof (and vice versa), that's the tough part.

Re: Who else is afraid of ladders?
Not ladders, but heights. Mostly because I have poor balance and can't maintain it on the narrow ladder steps/rungs if I have to take both hands off.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: Who else is afraid of ladders?
Wow! Haha.
Looks like he was an arrogant ladder-climber and lost his footing. What I would fear is the bottom sliding out, and the top scraping down the wall toward the ground as you fall on your face.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Who else is afraid of ladders?
Depends how tall the ladder is.
I regularly have to get on about a 6 foot ladder at work, to take things off of shelves, and put things onto them. So yeah I'm not scared at all, now if we go higher and get those really high ladders then yeah I'd be a little more cautious.Minnesota Vikings
