Blogging
Anyone do it? I'm thinking about starting a music and/or sports blog. Know any good tips to generate traffic, getting ad clients, etc? I don't really have the money to drop on a domain at this point so what free hosting sites would be best for establishing a relatively high traffic blog that can generate some revenue? My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Tags: None -

Re: Blogging
Usually you have to pay for hosting in order to get ads on blogs. The best program I know is wordpress and I use it all the time. Right now godaddy has a special where you can setup a linux hosting and domain for 30 bucks and you can install wordpress onto it for free. (you will have to call them ask them about this special, not sure if its available today or not)
You can find awesome templates for free like from wpdaddy.com. Nice templates and the best part..they are free! You can also google wordpress templates sports or wordpress template music to get an idea of free and nice templates you can pay for later.
Typcial way to get ads on your site is to add google adsense at first. Not sure how to get bigger ads but usually companies will go to you if they see you are generating traffic. The way you do this is have relevant articles/blogs/post frequently.
Keep active and keep posting stuff that you think people out there would find interesting and things will come your way. You want to make sure that you title your post very well that contain major keywords.
I recommend that you keep track of your hits by using google analytics which is free to install. Also to go on youtube on how to use wordpress. You can also visit wordpress.org or just simply google wordpress tutorials/tips.Comment

Re: Blogging
Blogging for money would be the least motivating factor for me. I'd blog because I love to write and believe I have the talent to be interesting and engaging. If the money came, that's great. If not, oh well. I am still doing something I love and sharing it with others. If money is to be made from that, that's awesome.
I don't know of any advice to really give, but I know that there can't be much money made in blogging anymore because so many people are doing it. I am not saying that to discourage you, but I'd blog for the love of writing and the release it gives. If money comes as a result of that, then that's just icing on the cake.Comment
