Re: Fashion / Style advice thread

I just bought these black Sebago wing-tips on sale. These are my first black dress shoes since high-school (I think). All my other ones are brown. Two things I like about these shoes - the wooden "side panel" (I don't know what you call the sides) and the Vibram rubber soles. Stylish shoes with athletic comfort!

And to think before this, I didn't even know they made dress shoes/boots!

Do you guys use water repellent sprays on your leather shoes? If so, what should I get?

I only do the suede stuff and in my experience, it's all about the same brand-wise...

And NOTHING beats an old skool REAL shoe shine by a real shoeshine guy...

Still available in many larger airports...

Does anyone know a site to get legit Supras for cheap? I got a pair off karmaloop for $47 the rest are pretty pricey. I don't mind paying but if I can I would love to get it cheaper.

Try jack threads. I haven't used it, but I've heard good things about it.

I've gotten a lot of nice stuff there for wayyyyyyy lower prices than they should be. It basically knocks everything down to H&M prices.

Also, bought this beauty at the outlets in Philadelphia this weekend:

Faux Leather, originally priced at $200; I got it at $130. So freaking nice, and I don't have anything else like it so that's always nice.

Hoodie comes with it. You can unzip it from the jacket if you're going a little dressier though. It's just the hood and a little liner that comes with it; not a full blown hoodie.

Where do you guys buy ties? It takes me a good while to find a pattern that doesn't instantly look dated or outright ridiculous at the stores in town. I saw some Jerry Garcia ties yesterday that I liked, but they weren't on sale so I walked.

I would love to find a nice source of modern/art deco/minimalist type ties (ie: Draper specials).

I get mine from Express and Macy's. But I only buy skinny ties.

Best overall selection of ties. I only wear skinny ties and thetiebar has a massive selection. You can't beat a flat price of $15.

I posted pics of my purchase from thetiebar earlier in this thread and I give it a massive thumbs up.

Never owned a pair but I've noticed they have shoes that aren't too "skater" looking.
