How to get rid of unwanted guests?

Hey fellas.
I'm facing a problem at my house with roaches in the house, and I recently found a snake and rats in my backyard. I see the rats every other day on my porch, around my things and it disgusts me!

How do I get rid of them? I pretty much can't chill in my backyard anymore. I'm a wuss, lol, so how do I get rid of then? Anyone had a problem like this?

This title mislead me a little bit.

I thought you had a serious problem for a moment.

Like Snooki passing out in your house and not wanting to leave.

I'd say an exterminator could take care of the roaches, as well as these traps you can buy. The traps worked well for us in college.

As far as your backyard goes, you are either going to have to suck it up or buy some rat pellets, cats, etc... No backyard is going to be free of some form of wildlife.

And mow your lawn. Don't keep junk piled up like you're about to grant every rednecks wet dream of a critter petting zoo/yard sale all in one.

Plus you live in Texas. Can't you just napalm that **** if it creeps you out?

Roaches, snakes, and rats? If you had Spiders, I would have just burned the house down and started over in another state.

Well, the snake probably would've helped with the rat problem. As for the roaches, make sure the house is clean (no garbage/old food laying around) and call an exterminater as others have said.

Snakes- need to get rid of the rats first and then put moth balls out around your property line.

Rats- clean up trash, brush, etc. If you want to totally get rid of them, then get some poison. Not sure if they still sell the stuff, but there used to be some poison that made the rat crave water and when it drank it, it dies.

Roaches- traps inside and spray some stuff around the exterior or just near openings.

Moth balls would get rid of the snakes and the rats. Far as roaches.......Ortho Home Defense......Spray throughout the inside AND outside your house.

But then again, the thing about roaches, it all depends on where you live at too. Because if you live in an area where the houses are close together, then they will just go next door and eventually just come back later. So if you live where the houses are close together and your neighbors keep a nasty house, you will always have a problem.

But yeah, just do the best you can to keep your house and your property clean. Mow the grass often, keep your trash cans clean, INCLUDING the ones you keep outside. Always tie your garbage bags, don't ever throw loose trash or set an open garbage bad in an outside garbage can. That will just be a rat and roach magnet.

I mean seriously when you sniff a trash can, you don't suppose to smell nothing at all. Hmmm what else ???? Don't have boxes in your house, stacks of newspapers or brown paper bags. Those things attract roaches & mice. They both make their nest in those things.

Make sure you don't have leaking pipes in your house either. 2 things that mice and roaches need to survive, food and water. Eliminate those things and spray the house inside and outside, you will be problem free.

The way you describe it......you might have 100 mice living on your property. Because if they bold enough to come running across your porch, that tells me it is a hell of a lot of them and they been there for a long time to the point they comfortable traveling through there.

Need to nip that in the bud now before you end up with a thousand rats. Oh yeah......if you have a grill, make sure you keep it clean.
