    Memorial Day

My eternal gratitude goes out to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting this, the best hope for freedom on this Earth.

Words cannot express how thankful and proud I am of being an American, and sharing that distinction with those who possess such valiance.

We will never forget what you've laid down for us. Thank you.

    Happy Memorial Day

    Like the one song says

"And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me."

My greatest thanks and gratitude go to those who serve our great nation.
Especially those who make the Supreme Sacrifice.
      God Bless.

          Re: Memorial Day

Remember, while today or any day, it is extremely important to recognize, encourage, and acknowledge how much you care about current serving armed forces and veterans from the past, today it is ESPECIALLY important to recognize those who gave their lives for the United States of America.

RIP to those men and women. Thank you all.

            Agreed.

I worked today and one of the truck drivers that was dropping of the gear that I know, was a soldier, and his son is in the service

When I saw him, I wished him a Happy Memorial Day.

He Linda looked at me wierd and said "Thanks, your the first person to say that to me"

This struck me as incredibly sad. Alot of people are so oblivious to what people did for them to have what they have.

Happy memorial day, to all that put everything on the line.

              Yes.
I was a little saddened to see how few responses in this thread.

If you ever get a chance ....try to watch this PBS special.

It's linking the preview a bit weird...but I think you can still view it.

A late thank you to all who served

I echo the sentiment that I'm saddened to see the day be seen more as a "no work or school for a day" holiday as opposed to a day of reflecting on past heroes.

I couldn't agree more with what has already been posted. I'm posting a pic below that never fails to choke me up, but it also sums up what some have given up to keep our great country free.

Well said sir. I have the utmost respect for those who fight to keep our country free. On a personal note, both my grandfathers and one of my uncles served in the military, and I have quite a few friends who joined up after high school. My gratitude goes out to the men and women of the military.
