ShopRunner
Anyone ever use this service? I first saw it for Dominos Pizza, now on Newegg I noticed it. Usually gets your free delivery or shipping. 30 day trial for signing up, then it's $79/year(or $8.95/m) after that for "free" 2 days shipping from a load of different stores.

Re: ShopRunner
I've been a member since getting a free year in January (it was some promotion by some creepy website that was supposed to collate everything you bought online, you just had to give it unfettered access to your email accounts, needless to say I signed up with fake Facebook and Yahoo email accounts).
Anyway, I've used it three times at Newegg and once at GNC when they had some cheap melatonin. Everything I bought at Newegg was already shipping free, shoprunner just got me 2 day instead of standard. A Newegg junkie might find it worth it, especially since you get free return shipping which could murder you if you needed to return something to Newegg.
Personally I likely won't renew after my year, not too many of the stores I would actually shop at, especially since I have Amazon Prime that gets me cheaper prices with my free 2 day shipping. -
Re: ShopRunner
I want to use it for when I buy the parts for my new PC, but the case isn't eligible so it would come come in 3 days regardless -_-Comment

Re: ShopRunner
I use it, got a year free doing some deal too. It's particularly useful for Dominos and Newegg. I won't pay for it, though. If I can get it for free, I'll keep getting it for free. I won't go out of my way to pay for it since I don't use it that often. Amazon Prime I'll probably keep.[NYK|DAL|VT]

Re: ShopRunner
I went to see when my 1 month free was up so I didn't get billed and went to the manage/cancel membership page. Right away they offer to extend the trial to 90 days.
If you use the service 3 times in that 90 days, they extend it to a year!Comment

Re: ShopRunner
So my year free trial came and went. I set the account to "do not renew" the day before I was to be charged. I go to order Dominos today (cancelled a few weeks ago) and I see the ShopRunner is signed in an active. I check the account, they automatically extended it another 6 months and it's set to not renew in April
I don't know how they are making money off of this. I've saved $49 in shipping and delivery charges.Comment

Re: ShopRunner
No idea, they renewed my trial for another year when it ended at the beginning of the year, so who knows what they will do when it comes up in January. I've had it for nearly 2 years for free, "saved" nearly $400 shipping. It's an OK service, just nothing I'd pay for. Really the only thing I found it useful for was when I was building my computer, I could buy part by part from Newegg when they were cheap without worrying about shipping, hardly worth $80 (though while looking up that price I saw you can do a monthly sub for $9, that might be viable for when you are ordering a bunch from Newegg, or the $9 might be cheaper than some participating place's standard shipping).Comment

Re: ShopRunner
Yep, mine was set to expire/renew in July after a one year trial and it just extended to another year without charge. I have no credit card on file either, weird. I've used it quite a bit, Domino's, Finish Line, Footlocker, NBA Store (no longer part of it) and Newegg.

Re: ShopRunner
Just got an AMEX and it seems like it's complimentary for as long as you're using an AMEX at one of the retailers that Shoprunner is an option at, not just a year.
Can anyone confirm?Comment

Re: ShopRunner
That's the rub with Shoprunner, not nearly enough stores and those stores they do have aren't nearly useful enough. I used it a lot for Newegg when I built my computer, and maybe four times in the year and a half since. The only other store I used was Drugstore.com, they have good prices on some stuff when you don't want to go to a store for something.Comment
