The bolded name is one of my classmates. I had to laugh when I read her wiki page, because if I had to image what she had done with her life, that article sums up exactly what I would have hypothesized.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Pete Rose. My dad went to school with him.
Don Zimmer. My grandfather went to school with him.
Tuffy Rhodes. Played in MLB, but is most noteable for being the all time foreign born home run leader in Japan.

          Doris Day, the singer/actress.

There are other pro baseball and football players, but nobody of significant note.

Apologies for being a bit "off topic", but:

I have been racking my brain from time to time for weeks now trying to remember who the uber hottie was that sang "1 Thing"...

Had some classes with Jennifer Hudson back when she was the size of a walrus. Nobody talked to that girl back then. I'm willing to bet that that motivated her to pursue her dreams even moreso.

Other notables: Mr. T (I pity of the fool) and Lou Rawls (You'll never find..dum, dum, dum-dum-dum...another love like mine....)

Re: Notable Alumni at your High School?

From the high school I went to my freshman and sophomore years:
                          Shavlik Randolph
Pete Maravich (one of about 50 high schools he went to)
                          Clay Aiken
About half the roster of NC State from a few years ago
                          Webb Simpson

There's probably a few others that I don't know about cause that school was enormous.

This reminds me of a story about the first time I was asked about HS in St. Louis. I was at some freshman mixer bbq and I was sitting at some table, waiting for my friends, when some other people sat down.

First they asked my name, "Caleb." Where I was from, "Rolla." Where Rolla was, "100 miles down 44." And finally, what HS I went to. I was very surprised at this question. I thought they would assume Rolla would only have one HS, just like most towns and cities across the country. I mean, they didn't even know where Rolla was. How the heck could they assume Rolla had more than one HS? Why would they even care to ask if they knew whether or not Rolla had more than one HS, if they didn't even know the location of the town. It's not like they would recognize any possible other names for a HS in a town they never heard of. I responded with a surprised inflection in my voice with, "Rolla." They looked very confused. Then their parents had to remind them that Rolla probably wasn't as big as the STL area.

                              Talk about sheltered.
