If you're hell-bent on parking at the stadium, they have huge hangars they use as parking spots. They were expensive, 30 bucks (SMH), but I loved getting in and out of there. It was much easier than what I presume to be the regular parking.

Me and some friends are heading out there in October for a Niners game. We're all set except for a hotel. We're looking to stay somewhere reasonable price-wise, but also convenient to downtown and Candlestick. Any suggestions?

Candlestick is on the outskirts of town closer to SFO. There isn't really a good hotel that would be convenient for both. If you are going to stay in town for a few days, get a place in town and just sacrifice your drive for the day you go to the game. You'll save a lot of money on transportation if you stay in the center of town. Depending on the dates of your travel, just use priceline or something and find a hotel within your budget in the area you want to stay. Chances are you won't spend much time in the room, so find the nicest hotel in your budget and go with it.

To the OP. If you are looking for picturesque view of the Golden Gate. Head up to Hawk Hill. It's right on the north side of the bridge. A huge hill that overlooks the bridge and the major peninsula of the city. Do a Google image search and you will see the view you will get.

So I wound up having to get a hotel just outside the city. So I'll be driving into the city for the Giants game Friday night. Any suggestions on where to park for the game? I don't mind parking and walking to the stadium, I would just like to find a place that is somewhat simple to get to.

There's parking on a little backstreet off of Townsend called Clyde St. It's like a block or two past Willie Mays Plaza and there's garage parking and a few meters.
