What do you know about washing machines?

Well, I went down into the basement to wash some damn clothes, because my wife is at the hospital after having a baby...So I'm like shoot, let me wash some clothes, I go down stairs to wash, cut the wash machine on , problem is, the water is not filling up in the washer, and seems as it's coming from underneath the washer, and water is leaking from the back/under. so my question is, is this an easy fix or do I have to spend money to get somebody to look at it...

oh and, I just wanted to see if the dryer would work, I cut that on, you can hear it coming on but it's not moving at all..I'm done with it

Damn man, I'd be careful with what you touch if everything's going to break.

Anyway, you really need to narrow down exactly where the leak is coming from, but it seems like it's between the solenoid and the tub if the water starts but doesn't make it to the tub.

The dryer is trickier, first make sure there isn't a setting to not tumble and that the door is fully closed. From there it could be as simple as the door switch (though that is doubtful since you can hear it start), or as bad as the motor, though I doubt it's the motor since you can hear it come on so best guess would be the belt either broke or slipped.

Well, my son and I fix the washer, one of the pipes came lose once I pull the washer out, so I put that back on..and now it's working like it's suppose to.

Now the dryer is still doing the same thing, I'm thinking the water from the washer got into the dryer and causing it not to turn, I don't know..I'm going to keep playing with it goggling things..
