Anyone in Chicago been fishing lately? I know this crazy weather we've been getting hasn't been good.. but it's suppose to be 50 degrees this weekend and I'm thinking of heading down to a local river.

I am just getting in to fly fishing, and I love it.
If you look you can find really good deals for lessons. I am using a groupon for a 3 hours guided for $75 next week. I have gone a few times with friends but I have improved a lot more with lessons."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

I'm also getting into fly fishing the flats for red fish the last year or so.
This is my home turf around where I do a lot of fishing, to give yall a example of the size of that big red I am holding that picture of me on the beach. It was 42" long and around 40 to 50lb. This red he caught on fly was 41", that is beastly!

When I lived in IL, the only rivers I fished in was Rock River, Fox River, Illinois River and if I didn't want to drive far, Des Plains River. Illinois River and Rock River has the best variety of fish. Fox and Desplains is mainly catfish.Comment
