    Food/Snacks from the Past

Who else remembers this fantastic drink from the late 80's and 90's? This was THE drink of my childhood in the early 90's.

I really wish they would bring it back. I'm 27 now, but I would buy it in bulk quantities if it was ever released again. Haha. I know I'm not the only one. I know there are ways to make it on your own, but it still isn't the same as it is inside the classic juice box or can. Yeah, a can. You don't see juice in cans anymore.

Hi-C would be smart to release this product again. They would sell millions.

    Who's with me?

Yeah, I've seen that before. Pretty neat. I'll probably give it a whirl someday and make it.

Man, I will never forget that stuff.

I remember drinking it with my cousins in the late 80s growing up.

We used to get them in the large tin cans:

You would always poke a large hole in the front (where you were going to pour from) and a smaller hole on the other side for ventilation. Those were the days!

I'm 28 so this rings true for me. I could easily take down a tin a night, I loved that ish! I have had a Ecto Cooler fish bowl once, I actually had about 3 and could barely walk.

I actually lived a minute away from a Hostess bakery when I was kid. It was practically in my back yard. I used to get these pies all the time!

Honestly, what from the 90s (and 80s from those born earlier) wasn't great?

Never had Hi-C as a kid, parents refused to buy it. But I loved the turtle pies though.

Exactly! Man, we had it made then. Such awesome things back then.

What I have a hard time finding is Citrus Cooler Gatorade. I just remember that was Jordan's favorite flavor and I was got it because of that. I've seen it around every once in awhile but can never find it locally.

A box of this was a staple of my brown-bag elementary school lunches, I wouldn't accept anything else. It was the anchor! The rest was as follows:

Main course - Lunch meat/cheese or PBJ sandwich.
Side snack - Mon through Thurs: some kind of veggie (carrots most of the time) Fri: little bag of chips
Fruit snack (anyone remember Shark Bites? Hell yeah!) or Little Debbie (Oatmeal Cream Pies and Nutty Bars were my favs)

                            5-star thread.

Yep! They still make them, too. I grab a box or two once every six months or so.
