Why do users get banned?

not sure if this the right part of the forum, but im looking for reasons (examples) why users are getting banned from the OS. i have been seeing a lot of pink names on here during the last weeks, not saying that people are getting banned more often than before it just came to my attention lately. if there is some place with rules and regulations on here then im sorry, didnt find it until now. also im not saying that those users dont deserve to get banned, im just wondering why.

Usually people troll (explained in that link) and just in general be annoying/stupid. The mods here are really good and tend to give you more than enough rope to hang yourself with. If you get banned you've been yelled at quite a bit and had a chance to change how you posted.

Releases of big games like Madden and NBA 2K can weed out some users when they get a little whiny or don't follow the rules of flooding a forum with certain types of posts. If they do cross-forum posting, you'll see that they're pink for reasons unknown to yourself if you didn't venture over into those specific gaming forums.

Sometimes bans aren't due to a one-time occurrence either. There can be a "three strikes and you're out" policy, all depending.

lol i mostly saw pink names in the madden forum, way less in less busy ones.
