    I thought this forum was different

    I fully expect to be banned after these comments. Earlier today I was replying to a thread, attempting to tell the OP that he may be over reacting and exaggerating to a problem. I was met with near universal negative response. It seemed like nobody wanted to hear a different point of view, so they felt the comments were unnecessary and that I needed to be reported and ignored. A forum is a place for discussion. Yet people had a problem with a different point of view. Well I guess this is the end to my short stay here.

      I doubt you'll be banned for what you just posted here.

      Just a few thoughts though.
      First....and I don't know what the thread was...but perhaps you were rude to the OP and his point of view and hence the "piling on".
      or....you just happened to run into a group of rude posters yourself...
      But were they just responding negatively to you or posting things that should be reported in and of itself?
      If guys were reporting your post...it sounds like you may have stepped over the line.

          Believe it or not, we dont ban just for the hell of it.

          A better approach would have been to report and/or get hold of a staff member to get the post(s) looked at.

          Also, looking at your posts, it appears that you paint it with sarcasm and sometimes smugness. "Can you read?" is not something that allows discussions to move in a mature fashion

                  I'll admit can you read was uncalled for, but that wasn't what I was talking about. The thread is the most recent one I posted in (other than this one). It doesn't really matter at this point though, I don't plan on posting anymore.

                      If you can't see the difference in the way this forum is moderated and the way the 2k forums are moderated then you aren't paying attention.

                      You seem like a nice enough guy, but you have to accept the fact that people have strong opinions, just as you do. You didn't receive an infraction and you aren't banned. If a few guys block you, then who cares ?

                      Also, I don't think it helped anything when you accused the guy of complaining because he lost. You can't complain about not being allowed an opinion, when say stuff like that. What kind of reaction did you expect ? If you keep it constructive and stay within the rules, you will be fine.

                      If you feel like this place isn't for you then fine, but I still think you're over reacting.

                          Completely serious question: are you new to Internet forums, or Internet discussions in general?

                          If so, I suggest you thicken your e-skin a little bit or you'll be run out of any forum you go to...

                              Yah... OS isn't perfect, but if you think this place can get nasty, I dare you to venture into other forums, lol.

                              For all of its faults, this is still one of the best moderated and most mature forums on the web IMO.

                                  Agreed. It's not perfect, especially the forums for a few specific games, but once you get past the bad ones, there are plenty of good people that post here, and as a result, this has quickly become one of my favorite sites on the internet.

                                          I think you're being very hypocritical in the fact that you're not able to take other peoples opinions, then labeling the entire site as some kind of a problem

                                          You definitely aren't as completely innocent as you say, especially in the last thread you posted in, and common responses like "well just block me then"
                                          is a cop out.

                                          Once you post on here your comments are public, and you or anyone else can post here as long as you are abiding by the TOS

                                          First admit you were being a bit of a jerk to the OP, and then you can understand his responses more

                                          ...but anyway since you arent posting here anymore as you say, im locking this thread because it serves no purpose to tell people Im not going to post here anymore.... Just dont post.
