Sounds like you could be diabetic.
Before the hyponatremia I was on a fantastic eating plan. Good clean protein like salmon and protein shakes, all fresh veggies and good fiber, only drink water and nothing else. That was part of what caused the hyponatremia. I was drinking to much water.

Since that happen I have continued to drink only water but have add prune juice to my diet to try keep me regular. I've also continued to eat good. Since I fish so much I have a freezer full with at least 100lbs of fish so we eat fish about 3 times a week. Always clean veggies also, like tonight is cabbage.

I'm hypoglycemic and have been for over ten years. As long as I keep some sugar in me from fruits I'm good to go. Only a couple times have my blood sugar dipped and I've had to dig into a candy or coke to bring me back up.

For the most part I'd say I eat healthy. Like you I've thought about diabetic also. I asked the doctor about it but he said not at this moment but at some point there is a chance I could become one. At 5'10 175 pounds weight is not really a issue, just more how my body is made up I guess

I also had some health problems too: Diabetes/high blood pressure/cholesterol/plaque psoriasis. I was able to get rid of all my meds (except for the psoriasis med) by going on a vegan diet. And this was just 5 months doing the diet. Also by lifting/yoga/running I been able to get rid of my back/hip and fee pain that I been going through for 5 years. It's unbelievable the transformation I been going through. I couldn't walk a year ago with feet injuries and now I'm doing head stands.

I had to sacrifice a bit but man the reward is amazing. You can turn it around but it all depends on how bad you want it.
That is friggin fantastic man!!! I remember reading about you business venture you heading into. I wish the best for you and hope everything turns out good.

Bottom line you are doing it though, out there taking risks and living life.

        I salute you sir!

Sorry for multiple posts to guys, I guess on tappatalk you can't multi-quote???

Hey Derek - I thought I'd share this story about Wild goalie Josh Harding. He has been going through the same thing as you. While your final diagnosis might not turn out to be the same as him, I think he has a great attitude.

Damn it that does not seem similar though. The double vision, the numb right leg, the constant pain at random spots, I sure hope it is not MS, but it just sounds so familiar to what I'm experiencing. Granted a lot of things can give similar symptoms, only thing I can do is wait till the 3rd and hope I get some answers.

Thanks for the read man, pretty cool story and great attitude.

              Hi Derek,

I'm Dan, but I bet you've guessed that before

Wow, quite a thread. I'm hoping for the best for you on the 3rd! Your attitude is extremely good on this whole thing, and that's huge to help you get well.

Are you thinking about mentioning that pot helps ease your pain? I don't know if they might be able to link something to that, but maybe they could at least give you a prescription for it.

Yea Dan, I just been trying to do everything like normal. I mean hell I can't change what is going, best I can do is find out how to live with it and move on with life.

I didn't really want to discuss the pot thing since it is not allowed on OS. To end on that note though, yea it helps greatly for both the pain and it helps the nausea which helps me eat. Sadly though, I live in Louisiana so there is no medical prescriptions here for it. I wish that was different because I don't enjoy taking pills that do harm to your kidneys and such.

I don't want the topic to get closed cause of that topic so I will end there. Lets just say I'm a great productive citizen and it really sucks politics decide stuff like this.

                Off that topic
I'm thinking of starting a yoga routine to try and help some of these issues and maybe help general health too. I been recording my blood pressure the last 4 days and it has been consistently high. 139/87, 140/86, 145/85, 150/89. It could be related to the stress of being in pain, I'm not sure but I'm hoping to try and bring that mid 80s back down to 80 I hope in the next couple months.

Re: New chapter in my life

Yes, the elevated pressure is likely the pain/stress. I'd be surprised if that doesn't come down once your pain is managed, but they still need to think about that and keep an eye on it.

On the leafy thing, sorry...was just discussing medicinally in this particular case. Will leave it at that, mods.

Back on topic, I like your yoga idea. Something you can do that isn't as pounding as running. Go easy and slow, man.

I agree with Dan in that you should tell your doctor that the "green" medicine seems to help your symptoms. It could lead to a diagnosis... you never know.

Oh yea I've told every doctor I've seen. It does not make the pain "go away", it takes the edge off is best way to put it. The weird pains still appear and disappear they just don't come with the same "impact".

I know MS has come up a time or two in this thread...but I guess I was really thrown by the 'needles in intestinal area' symptom. You've got some whacky stuff going on, there.

Oh yea I eat fresh fish about 3 times a week. Now can that be a cause, maybe........but I doubt it because I would think the blood panel would pick up on any high chemicals such as high magnesium which is normally associated with fish.

                                Derek,

I have been keeping up with this thread but didn't want to hijack. I think it is a really good thing you are doing for yourself and your family. I am sorry to hear about your physical ailments. I am sure its tough but you seem to be the kind of guy that is pretty strong both physically and mentally, with a good head on your shoulders. I have nothing but faith that you will get by any obstacles in your way and have a good and successful life.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and know that ours are with you as well.
