Re: Does Paypal cover fake items..?
Not likely. You might have a case with eBay if the seller claimed them to be authentic of a certain brand.
You should assume anything name brand coming from China is fake.Comment

Re: Does Paypal cover fake items..?
I doubt you wouldnt get your money back if you simply opened a claim through Paypal as they tend to almost always side with the buyer in the end anyways. Just open it up, explain the situation and youll probably get your money back.Comment

Re: Does Paypal cover fake items..?
Can I ask how much you paid for the items?
Being snap backs, if you paid more than $10 for both hats, you should of known better.Comment

Re: Does Paypal cover fake items..?
If someone gives me a free snapback of any kind, I'll mail it to you.
It will likely be of the Chicago Bulls or Miami Heat "variety"..
If it was an ebay purchase, you have to take that up with them. Paypal just works as a middleman for transactions and doesn't hold any responsibility.Comment

Not everything from China is counterfeit, Ive purchased many items from wholesalers over there and its all been legit stuff, clearly there are counterfeit issues and its a big market but not everything is.

Paypal is owned by ebay so its not as if they are some complete third party that merely processes payments, its pretty much one in the same now. All he needs to do is open a dispute through ebay and then it will attach to his paypal account I believe and at that point then he waits as they investigate it.
They operate seperately, though.. so I guess it would still be more on the "ebay" side, but easier for them to track the transaction.Comment

Re: Does Paypal cover fake items..?
Paypal used to be a seperate company back when you could pay for things on ebay using a multitude of online payment options and then ebay bought them and made it so you had to use Paypal only to pay for things. Its smart business really, they collect fees from you to list an item, they collect a fee whether it sells or not and then they collect a fee through Paypal for processing the payment.Comment
