I do the same thing as well when I have the urge to drink soda. I haven't completely stopped drinking it and have maybe 1 or 2 drinks a month which isn't much at all but I want to kick the habit forever.
When I want something different from water, I drink Ice Tea straight with no sweetener and I got used to it and think its refreshing and its also good for you. To change it it up I'll top off a glass of tea with a little lemonade to sweeten it a bit but not much.
