    Applying for Internships

Hey OS! I kind of need some help registering for an internship. I'm trying to land a student nurse internship at a hospital and am trying to make sure I have things covered where I don't look unorganized... My preferred hospital offers a paid position so that's where I'd like to apply first, but the deadline for that is January 30th. The hospital closer to home offers an unpaid position and the registrations begin January 1st and I was hoping to mail out the paperwork by the end of the first week of January for both of them.

What I need help with is a cover letter -- how should I start it and how long should it be? I know it shouldn't be too long and should just basically summarize who I am and what I have to offer to the facility, but other than that I have no idea what to do, how to start it, end it, etc. I know these are a piece of cake for a lot of business majors or what have you but I'm a health science major and this was not covered at all in the 2.5 years of college that I've been through.

So any tips, suggestions, etc. would really be appreciated! I would really love to land that paid internship position, but I'd be happy either way to just get my foot in the door of any hospital! Thanks, OS fam!

Just keep it short and to the point IMO. Make yourself look competent.

Also, how does your resume look? You should post both of them and I'm sure multiple people here will give their input. Load it onto Google Docs.
