I'm with Matrix on this one.

My only two highs were getting out of the military and getting our own apartment.

Lows... Well there weren't too many but the ones that were there are disgusting.

Re: Highs and lows: 2012 in review

2012 started terrible for me. I had plantar fascitiis in both feet and couldn't walk for a few weeks. Had boots on and it lasted for 2 months. During that time my psoriasis went to an all time worse and covered 80% of my body. Also while going through that I went to an all time high my blood sugar levels at over 200+ which is bad for a diabetic. Also my blood pressure and cholesterol were off the charts and I was pushing 290 pounds.

Went through depression, almost lost my job and my family was worried that I was going to commit suicide or something. I would never do that but the way I was talking they were worried for me big time. All I did was sit on my *** and watch tv and play video games, doing nothing to improve my situation other than masking the pain with drugs.

I started praying and I called out to my grandparents or whoever was watching over me to please show a sign or light out of this situation I was in before I destroy my health and spirit even further.

No lie, the next couple day I get a call from my mom and she asked me if I would be willing to move to El Nido Philippines where my mom and grandpa grew up and open up a hotel with her and my dad.

I thought about it for a day but then realize this is the sign right in my face. The following couple weeks after I healed my injuries with my feet and found the right medication to start healing my psoriasis and my good friend who is also obese offered to start working out together at around the end of April.

From there I started working out 3 times a week but was slowly progressing. Then I watched a video of an inspirational speaker named Eric Thomas that motivated me to push harder and to cut out distractions and poisonous environments.

I cut video games, alcohol and bread, watched less tv and sports. From there I worked out 6 times a week, did way better at work as well. I also found a new love in yoga, running and lifting during this process.

Consistency is what he kept preaching and that's what I did. I also went vegan in July and that's when things started opening up for me. I wanted to give up many times on the diet and workout plan but I pushed through the pain until accomplished each small goal day by day and got stronger physically, mentally and spiritually.

Today I am pain free, 216 pounds, off all meds for diabetes/cholesterol/high blood pressure and almost all my psoriasis is gone. Also accomplished a lot already for the business, named it, almost finished with the website and helped with the design of the building. I'm also doing better in the Tagalog language since I didn't grow up speaking it.

Sold my rental property and now about to sell the house that I'm living in this week. Also accomplished my first 5k race today without walking.

Now since I started this all I have new goals I never thought I would ever do like becoming a yoga teacher and also become a scuba dive master so that I can lead those activities at the hotel on top of helping run and market the place.

I got a lot on my plate but with this new fire burning to succeed its gonna take death to stop me. 2013 is going to be an epic year, I feel it.

Highs: The 49ers beating the Saints in the playoffs and flying to San Francisco in October to watch them beat the Bills. Actually, the whole trip to San Francisco was a high.

Low: The flight back from San Francisco. Oh, and the loss to the Giants in the NFC championship game. And Tennessee's entire football season (again). And the infield fly rule being incorrectly applied.

When sports comprise my biggest lows, I can't really complain.
