Logical: it was most likely a test that Steve did to see like certain things and birthdate could've been broken at the time. Or some dude was a good hacker cause OS was "made in 2002"

Stupid answer: People in Area 51 created the Internet and football and baseball was rising so the Government was investigating why, thus the name "Operation Sports" It was a planned out Operation made by president John F Kennedy after he met Joe DiMaggio and Sammy Baugh and wondered to himself, "damn, they are good. I wonder what their Genetics are." Operation: Sports was years in the making and once underway, it was also untouched and was researching sports for 30 years until Steve got this site. Little did we know the original Government agents left a little message saying **DONOTDELETE** and it was never deleted. There was rumors that the profile has secret things associated with it.

Could we find out if Pete Rose DID gamble? Did Shoeless Joe actually bet? Was the NFL strike a sham? Did Barry Bonds actually used steroids? Was Michael Jordan really a Robot? Is 2Pac, Biggie, and Elvis alive? Is Sam Cassell actually Human ET? Was Nike actually a company created by the US government to manipulated the Human Race? We may never know.

Actually, I think I saw the answer to this somewhere a while back. Might actually be in the early pages of the classic threads thread.

Think it was something like the original owner of the account had a lot of classic posts/threads and some of the admins were always messing with him back in the early days of the forum. Eventually that user wanted his account deleted so he could start fresh, but the admins wanted to keep the account around for posterity and so people could search for that posters posts so they changed the name to DONOTDELETE and gave him a ridiculous join date I guess so later members couldn't easily ID who that user had been. Actually, that account might even contain notable posts/threads from more than one user that have been lumped together under a single account.

There are actually a few deleted accounts around in which the username is not clickable and the title under the username says 'guest' and these usernames are also not searchable (i.e. won't produce results if you search for that name using the search feature).

I don't know the exacts and there are people in this thread far more qualified to respond to that than I am, I just no it was around a lot longer than 2002.

VAX-Epoch - term I just found, basically the system internal clocks on computers run on since, well just about ever. January 1st 1970 is considered day 1, so the join date is set to the earliest possible date of existence on the internet December 31st 1969.

Someone gotta find a thread/screenshot of a thread made before '02 cause I can't find any. But the threads probably got locked, deleted, and/or wipeout during Y2K. We should have a "This Day in OS History" if there's something significant for OS also.

Wait, K is thousand, so the game was NBA 1K969 or NBA 19K69? Either way, Lakers and Celtics were cheese team back in the day.... Just like 44 years later... Wow, history does repeat itself sometimes.

I believe it was 1998, and then the forum switchover to the site somewhat like you see today was in 2002.

Old School OS site was truly old school. 90s webdesign was horrendous in general.

I spent all day at the ER yesterday, and they still didn't find out why I was having headaches. I had an EKG for high blood pressure and a cat scan. Both came back great, and they scheduled me an appointment with a neurologist. Luckily, I was able to watch the Kentucky game last night while waiting for my results haha.
