Re: Off Topic 2013
I always felt bad for Hufflepuff. Like, they could've been excluded from the entire series and nobody would've known/gave a ****.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
I just got it too. It's fun, but I guess I was expecting more from the fighting the way it gets hyped. Half the time the camera angles suck and it's just 5 guys standing in front of you attacking you one at a time. If they made some way to swing the camera around while you were in locked-in fighting mode, that would be ideal. Other than that, there are a lot of side things to do, and the way the police cases progress is kind of neat.
Now I'm going to get AC IV and probably completely forget about Sleeping Dogs for a couple weeks.
I finished up season 3 of SoA. Damn what a great season and an awesome finale.

Re: Off Topic 2013
Online customer service chat is awesome. The days of having to call Comcast and try to mask my incredulation at their stupidity and regional accents are over.
Short story:
I managed to get my $120 bill for my apartment down to $30.
Long story:
SpoilerBeing stuck with Comcast I opted for the Mover's Edge transfer. When I ordered this transfer my service end/transfer date was October 25th. I actually set up my internet on the 23rd. The cable topbox they sent me was a complete dud and I had to have a technician come out on the 26th to fix it (which all he really did was switch the box out).
One of the last pieces of mail I receive at the apartment is Comcast's bill. The service period is from 10/15 through 11/15 with payment due on the 1st. Through the course of moving it gets pushed back in my mind since I have other things going on. Yesterday I received a Comcast bill at the new place for service at the new place. The service period on this bill is from 10/21 through 11/20. This immediately triggers something in my head that I feel like I'm trying to be bent over. Homie don't play that.
Thanks to the magic of the interwebz, I start my chat session with Luzzile which is a synonym for moron. I tell this person that my old bill runs from 10/15 to 11/15 why I'm being billed for service that was unavailable to me. After a couple minutes of pushing the notion that I was transferring service and wasn't buying 2 services the bill gets dropped down to $48.95. "Still too damn high!" /RentTooHighGuy.
I express my concern to them about the service start date for the new house, 10/21. I'm not sure where that date came from and they couldn't go any further than "its your service start date." At this point there are several dates floating around the most important one being 10/25 which is the original transfer date. After going in circles for several minutes they finally acknowledge 10/25 as being the transfer date and its relation to the service start date at the other house since they advertise this service as a transfer.
Once they connected the dots they bumped my bill down to $29.96.
Suffice to say I felt pretty damn successful.

What a way to disappoint not only your team, but your whole school and community as well.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
Only in small towns does the community give a damn what happens to high school football players and the high school sports team. I know in Chicago and when I lived in northwest Indiana, people didn't give a crap about high school sports unless their kid was actually playing. No kid on the team ? People didn't watch or pay attention to high school sports.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
The community didn't come out to support public high school sports around here outside of a few hockey and football programs. Thanksgiving day football was the only time people really showed out.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
I've had to raise my goal for Extra Life 2013 3 times so far thanks to you guys. Not a bad problem to have considering we've raised over $250 for Children's Miracle Network.
Thanks again!Comment
