Best part about dreaming is becoming aware that you are actually dreaming. At that point you can do anything; until you wake up.

If one of those machines from inception that all the old people went to get hooked up to was real, would you guys use it like them? To the point that was their happiness and reality? Would you frown upon the usage and those who rely on it? Would you guys rather have that machine be a truth or find out that the matrix is the true reality?badComment

Re: Off Topic 2013
See, that's the thing. I can NEVER tell when I'm dreaming. This has led me to the conclusion that the dreams I go to reside in alternate/seperate universes. So the me I'm dreaming about is an alternate reality version of myself, and thus a different entity. Things may be different there such as me catching feelings and smashing (that universe's version of) Paris Hilton or dreaming I have superman like powers (which usually get drastically diminished halfway through the dreams. Like, in the beginning I could leap onto Skyscraper like buildings and then near the end I could barely jump on top of a street light pole).
And, the funny thing is, when I'm dreaming my body (or the body I'm inhibiting) is on auto-pilot. Or, another way to put it is that I'm merely an observer there. I'm there, looking through his/my eyes, but I'm not making any decisions or moving. The AU (Alternate Universe) me is. I'm basically relegated to being a spectator in my own dreams watching my alternate selves live their lives.Last edited by DukeC; 01-27-2013, 08:17 AM.Comment

Are you saying we're living in the Matrix? If one of those machines from inception that all the old people went to get hooked up to was real, would you guys use it like them? To the point that was their happiness and reality? Would you frown upon the usage and those who rely on it? Would you guys rather have that machine be a truth or find out that the matrix is the true reality?
So the choice would be either waking from the Matrix or living in it?
That's a tough choice to be honest. If it's anything like dreams (and Matrix continuity, remember during the first movie where that guy is in the diner with Agent Smith and says everything tastes bland?) I'd probably want to wake up and experience real sensations (at least to myself.)
Oh, wait. I just realized I read that last sentence wrong. Never mind the above.
As far as the machines go...we already somewhat accomplish that by sleeping/dreaming anyway so the idea would be redundant unless they could specify what they see while under the influence by said machine.Comment

Ah good point.
So would everyone's Matrix be different or would they all be interconnected? It's been quite a while since I've seen Inception or the Matrix.Comment

I think everyone is in the same matrix so a bum in one is a bum to everyone. I'm not quite sure though. I've also wondered if there are forms of alternate realities. Like if there's a me out in some world that finished college and didn't join the military. Or any of the lithe choices we've made.badComment

Re: Off Topic 2013
That was probably the strangest moment I've ever experienced. I've never been so utterly ****ed at someone and then so happy about that same person in quicker succession than I was with Farokhmanesh when he went up for that shot.MLB: Minnesota Twins
NFL: Philadelphia Eagles
NBA: Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves
European Football: Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion
NCAA: UNI Panthers, Iowa Hawkeyes

Yes sir. It's in the former Higbee building in the same complex as Tower City right in Public Square. They just put this one here last Spring, but they are building the permanent casino very close to here that should be completed in two more years or so. Progress!Comment
