I would like to just take a moment to say....

Garth Brooks sucks. He's like Nickelback only somewhat country music.

Whoa there. I'm with Watson on this one. I enjoy Garth Brooks... however...

His first two albums were pretty good. Went down hill from there.

Dwight Yoakam, Keith Whitley & George Strait are way better.

I agree with this, though not way better.

I've listened to a lot of country music over the years, but I don't care for most of the stuff that's out today.

A lot of the artists from the 90s and early 2000s were pretty good.

I've got a Brooks and Dunn greatest hits CD in the truck right now.

I take it by spells. Some days I'll listen to metal and rock, then others I'll listen to hip hop and then I have the rare day where I'm just in the mood for some country music..

I try my best not to let just a few bad artists define an entire genre.

And I also agree with this. Can't stand most of the new stuff, but the older stuff (I even go all the way back to guys like Johnny Cash, Charley Pride, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, Conway Twitty, et. al.) is a lot of times my go-to when I listen to country. But, I'm a bit all over the place as far as music goes. I listen to rock, country, jazz, classical, and even some rap (mostly the older stuff).

You'd be surprised how effective music can be while drinking especially when you're in a bad/depressed mood.

I think it depends on the role music has. I like to drink at home... alone (don't judge me), and I usually start while watching shows, then when the news comes on I put headphones on and do other stuff, the music totally enhances my mood.

I like listening to music while watching a game since I don't give a **** what the commentators are saying anyway.

Played MLB12 and R.A Dickey had 5ks in 7IP and let up 2 runs, Encarnacion with 2 home runs(3RBI total) yet Jays lose 5-3 cause their bullpen blew the game!
