    Interview with DonovanMD

How long have you been reading Operations Sports and what brought you here?

Well I came here in search for Xbox rosters for NCAA 2004 originally back in August. I saw a link for the site on SportsReviewers saying there were some good ones here. The thought of renaming all of those players again this year made me sick to my stomach. Anyway I signed up and thought the forums were great, lots of insightful people here discussing all sports and a place for me to indulge in my sports gaming habbit without looking like a nerd.

What made you decide to donate to Operation Sports?

I donated after only a couple months of being registered but after a brief period at SportsReviewers and a quick google search this was far and away the best sports site period on the net. I found OS was the first site I logged onto when I got home and the last I checked out before bed, usually with quite a few checks between then, and thought the least I could do is scrape up some jack and do my part to keep the site rolling. Its just a great community and there are a lot of good guys here Iv met, I thought Id be the last guy who would ever be donating money to a website, yet here we are.

    Your favorite Sports Teams?

Well as most of you know Im a big hockey fan and a homer all the way, Iv always cheered for the Oilers. I also love the CFL and am an Eskimos fan, green and gold until the day I die.
South of the border I follow the Bears in the NFL (my dad was a huge Payton fan) and have a soft spot for the Twins and Expos. Cheering for the Oilers the last 10 years has turned me into a fan of the underdog I guess. I was a Vancouver Grizzly fan until the team left and now I throw my support behind the Raptors.

    What are your hobbies?

Sports of course is number one to me. I pride myself on my wide range of sports knowledge and am a fan of sports at any level. I was captain of my highscool football team and played for the University of Alberta Golden Bears as a freshman majoring in Journalism. I played defensive end and outside linebacker and backed up most of the season but started at OLB the last 2 games. Our team sucked again this year. I also work a fulltime job on top of that as a security guard at a department store and yet somehow manage to post regularily on the forums. Ah sleep is over rated anyway. I also enjoy knitting and arts and crafts

Tell us about about your family?

My parents are divorced and my father lives in Inuvik North West Terretorys (the Canadian equivilant of BumF*ck Idaho) where he owns a Tru-Value hardware store. My Mother Kathy, step father Barrie, younger brother Kyle (10) and younger sister Katrina (13) all live in Edmonton and iv just recently moved out of the basement, Im a month away from 19. My Brother has ten times the sports talent I ever had and at 10 can throw a great football (a larger Canadian one to boot) and has terrific athletiscim. What drives me crazy is he doesnt like football or hockey. I keep telling the kid he should join a pop warner football team where he would dominate and work on his arm and play quarterback in HS but he doesnt listen, he just wants to kick the soccer ball around all day *sigh*. My sister rides horses and plays softball. My family is pretty close, we get out and go camping a couple times a year and im lucky to have them.

Soccer is a cool sport though, he can play for the Canadian World Cup team in the World Cup when he gets good enough
    Blind to this impending fate
We let the world carry our weight
It's back breaks with every mile
But we all live in denial

BTW, it's DonovanMD. I'm sure it was just a typo.
