I've worked first hand in stores and learned that Business revolves around Merchandise, and the Selection of products. There are many intricacies involved in this; What type of Product are you trying to sell? Which group of people is your product trying to target and then marketing your merchandise to those groups effectively. Is your selection of merchandise of the best quality, and is it recent and up to date with what is in demand at the moment.
Then you get to the financing portion of Business, being able to fund your Business, acquire product, and manage your revenue the money you bring in. There are numerous other aspects to Business such as Staffing, finding out how many Employees are required to run the various aspects of your Business. Hiring, Then delegating out tasks, and managing Employees. Making sure everyone involved has an able task. Managing inventory, Inventory either makes you money or costs you money, you have to decide how to handle old product that's not selling. That's pretty much the basics of what I've learned from just being a laymen through the years.
I've never really decided what type of long term Career option to go to School for, just trying to figure out if this is the right Field for me to try and get into. Are there any Business Majors out there that can tell me what are some Entry level Business positions for graduates? and what the best Course of studies are for someone Interested. Thanks.
