I like my burgers medium rare with a nice char from the grill on the outside, though I can stomach a medium/medium well burger if needed.

Things like rotating tires, changing air filters, changing oil filters, fuel filters, changing spark plugs, changing the oil, putting on new brake pads, etc. all these simple, easy to do things and people go and pay a shop to do them.

I understand a lot of people don't know their way around a car, but the things I named are so easy that 10 minutes of looking it up on the internet will teach you how, and save a lot of money.
That is true, but I also find that my time gets limited and I don't want to spend tons of my free time (especially on weekends) doing car stuff as well.

I've just noticed this now that we own a house and there's a lot of chores (weeding/gardening upkeep, mowing front and back lawns, pool stuff, other outdoor stuff). Plus I have separate things I'd like to do (build some solid wooden storage shelves in garage, add shelf above our laundry section, etc).

We have been busy lately (got married in early May, have 3 week vacation in late July), so that's part of it, but in general I find my weekends barely having time to relax as it is (family stuff, errands, etc).

I do some stuff with cars though. My wife had a headlight out and I wasn't about to pay someone to fix that.

I'd also have to buy more tools and a car jack probably. I have enough tools for stuff around the house, but not to effectively do everything for a car.

You are right though, you can save some money that way. For me right now my time is worth a little money though.

I've never paid much attention to vehicle maintenance. I rotate my own tires, change my own oil, brakes, etc.

Not everyone has the resources to do it, though. I can have my tired rotated in less than 5 minutes and that's taking my time.

Convenience of having the lift in shop

We have even taken trucks completely apart before with the huge crane in the shop. Took a trucks cab and bed completely off the frame. My dad isn't paying for anything he can do himself.

I didn't realize this opinion was uncommon but I do agree.

I think the mods don't get much praise. They are often bashed but rarely complimented. I have seen some swift action lately and I really appreciate them removing problem posters who create a hostile environment.

IMO mods do a great job. They always give people enough warnings, so IMO any bans are well overdue.

It's a thankless job and always bashed. People just need to learn not to go crazy and calm down. If people just listened when warned and pull back a bit they wouldn't get banned.

I'm terrible with cars and I don't have time to change my own oil etc. Some people like working on cars. I don't.

Things like virus scanning, defragmenting, upgrading RAM, HDD, installing and configuring software , setting up wifi network, backing up data, replacing power supply, etc. all these simple, easy to do things and people go and pay people to do them (or more likely don't do it at all and just buy a whole new computer).

As for cars, usually, I'd rather just keep my hands clean, save myself some time, and not deal with buying and storing jacks, stands, oil pan, etc

I pay $35 for an oil change. It hardly makes me stupid if I value my time more than $35. I don't want the hassle so I pay for the convinience.
