If you are ever in Charleston, SC give them one more try.

Pretty much any place down there makes them way better than any other place I have had them...

I love shrimp and grits though, but I don't trust it unless I am down south, near the coast.

I've never seen restaurant ordered grits that didn't look like cemented mashed potatoes and taste the same way.

I've had shrimp n grits the LA/N'orleans way and "our way" (I guess the Southern way). I prefer our way:
Grits loaded with garlic and typically 2-3 different cheeses
Shrimp that has been broiled in bacon grease and Cajun seasonings.
      Top the grits with shrimp.
Add more cheese and green onions
      Top with bacon bits.

      Epic, epic, epic meal time.

Not gonna lie, the way you described them prepared in your post, makes them sound amazing.

Maybe I'll give them another go.

Grits are pointless to me. You have to add so much to them to make them taste like anything.

If my phone hadn't died I would post a picture. My dad had the same feelings as you had before we went to the beach last year. I brought Ashleigh with me and we made that one night. Everybody loved it.

There's a right and wrong way to do Shrimp and Grits. Honestly, I'm not much of an expert because I've only had them at a few different restaurants. I've tried them a couple of times here in BR and they were meh. Now, in Pensacola there's a restaurant called the Fish House and their Shrimp and Grits aka "Grits a Yaya" are to die for:

We never go to Pensacola without stopping by there for Brunch. Grits a Yaya and a Bloody Mary...

Then you'd hate how I eat them in the morning. I only add a small bit of butter and that's it.

                I love them like that.

My mom would make them for me like that before school when I was younger. I would eat it, but only because I was hungry and not because it was enjoyable.

I like to put non crispy bacon where it belongs - in the trash.

However I don't like bacon much at all since I don't eat pork, outside if the one or maybe two times I have bacon a year.

I don't find Kim Kardashian to be as hot as most people do.

I think living in South Florida has ruined my perception of women.

But the way the media goes gaga over her being seen pumping gas, eating a donut, wearing yoga pants (in which she's at her least flattering, to me)...I dunno. Then again, there aren't many celebs I find to be as hot as they're portrayed.

Not a very uncommon opinion, but John Mayer is one of the most talented musicians I've ever heard. He's obviously famous for pop music, but I feel like he's overlooked by people because of it. He's an excellent guitar player and his live performances are always great, especially his blues-rock trio work. The musicians backing him are outstanding too, especially in the drum department.
