also, uncommon opinions don't exist. on a planet of 7-8 billion people, no matter how far out your opinion is, you can bet there are millions upon millions of other people who share your view

8 billion people? Damn, and I here I thought if something got 10k likes on Twitter it meant something. Oh wait no I didn't. Only if something gets 5 likes on OS is it something of value.

Lol, nevermind, I see it’s satire after looking it up. My bad. Should have known better.

Dude that's kind of scary. Everyone knows me, I'm curious, I keep an open mind. I don't dismiss things summarily (although the reptile thing, LOL, ok I'm not laughing) but I also usually really find it difficult to believe in this stuff.

In other words, I think it's great to ponder it, debate it, discuss it. Don't dismiss things! But also, don't just summarily believe things to be contrarian or find some sort of uniqueness about yourself.

Also, just a note, most people have a LACK of imagination, not too much of it, j/s

As for the simulation thing (or anything else), I keep circling back to the same kinds of questions: "If this doesn't affect my way of doing things, I can't do anything about it, or this awareness doesn't change our ultimate outcome, what good does it do one way or the other to worry about it?" Most of the things he refers to, he has more of a glass half-empty viewpoint. I think he is seeking more life purpose or reason than anything, and he is deflecting his lack of finding it by speaking about conspiracies that he can't control.

There are crazy coincidences and happenings in life that can lead anything to actually be true, simulation included. I don't rule anything out, but again I also don't obsess over it if my 60-90 years on here aren't actually being moved one way or another as a result of that truth. I don't think people are actually unplugging from it if they are able to open their eyes about it.
Go watch "Are we living in a simulation?" on Netflix. May not convince you at all, but it will make you really think about things, that's for sure. It did a pretty good job of convincing me it's possible.

Nah man, it's true. Think about it. Birds are actually government surveillance drones. I have no doubt about this.

Here is some pictorial literature for the forum, hopefully I can wake some others up to the truth:

Tipping culture shouldn't be a thing.

Not saying people like waiters/food delivery drivers and so on shouldn't be making more money, but why does it need to come at the cost of guilting the consumer?

And it seems to be getting worse. I can't even order food anymore without being prompt for a tip on the POS machines (Point Of Sale for those who might have thought I was talking about something else...).

Why am I being prompt to tip someone who literally just asked me what I want, and I told them and that's it? Isn't that what part of the money from the order is going towards? So I need to buy lunch for $10 AND tip 20% just to get a burger? Is the person tracking me down at my work to give it to me, or just handing it to me over the counter? Not to mention the tip is being asked BEFORE a service is even provided. So clearly it's not even designed to be done based off the quality of service either.

Conspiracies are created by the government to cover up actual events before they can leak and lose control of the narrative. Think of it this way, since many declassified documents have already proven some old conspiracies right, Agency X worries that conspiracy A may gain traction and start an unwanted movement, so they "leak" data that confirms conspiracy A is correct, but also create conspiracies B, C, and D and push them even harder, complete with data leaks, proof, etc..

Then when they have maximum attention, they debunk conspiracies B, C, and D with proof and just say "Bet you sink pissers think conspiracy A is real too. Haha, go to college".

Anyway, that's what I would do if I were some sort of sinister agency that may or may not exist.

I’m a generous tipper. My wife started in the service industry and while I was always a good tipper before meeting her that just increased after hearing the horror stories.

It take a lot to get me mad about it.

I was at a concert last week and went to buy 1 beer. Guy turns around and gets it and puts it on the counter and I enter my card.

It asks for a tip. I choose the option for none. I keep getting an error message until I choose bare minimum of one dollar tip. I was furious at the forced tip (and pretty sure it’s not legal).

Now usually at a venue like this when I am going back for a couple beers for either myself or a group I’ll throw some cash in the tip jar but this forced tip was ridiculous.
