    Cruises

I've been on one cruise (on Royal Caribbean's huge Allure of the Seas), and am going on 2 this year. One is a 4 night Caribbean for my honeymoon, in May on Majesty of the Seas. The other is in Europe in July, seeing Italy, Spain, France, and Croatia for 12 nights (my fiancee's aunt sets up a family trip every couple years, that was my 1st cruise a few years ago).

I never thought I'd love cruises. I'm not a "foodie" and not a big fan of being cooped up on a ship for a week. Once I went I was hooked, and now it's a pretty cost effective way to get to the Caribbean and other areas without having to spend tons of cash yourself.

I've just been doing some research (had to pick the honeymoon trip now) and thought I'd see what you guys thought about cruises.

I've only cruised Royal Caribbean, and sticking with them for now since we like them. Any input on Carnival or the others?

I've never been too keen on the idea of being couped up on a ship in the middle of the ocean that long lol

        You've seen Poseidon right? lol

I'm one of those weird people that hopes our European cruise this summer goes past the Costa Concordia lol....never will happen though.

Though Carnival's getting killed again because the Triumph had a engine fire and is dead in the water....That would suck to have no bathrooms for 4ish days while it's towed to port.

I've been on Carnival a few times, always had a great time. Carnival owns basically all of them anyway LOL

Love cruises, by far the best vacation you can go on.

We may try Carnival or Princess in the future...

I was surprised how good the food was (though I'm not that tough to please), and just the experience overall for what you pay. Crazy good deal.

Worst part is the plane flight to a good port, but luckily my Southwest card with free miles is helping that.

European ones are crazy cause the flight over isn't cheap, but this is a once in a lifetime thing...

went 4 years ago on our first cruise.
When we go again, we are making sure its an adult only cruise.
Not only was it a germfest with all the kids, but many of the bars and entertainment was forced to close early because of complaints by parents of the children.

One positive I did hear about cruises though, is that there are ton of eligible females that are ready to get wild.

One of my good friends went on one a couple years ago (I'm pretty sure it was Carnival), and said there were plenty ripe for the picking.

Probably the only thing that could distract me from a possible tidal wave sealing my impending fate.

Cruises are the best, def most effective way to vacation. I've been on only one cruise (Royal Carribbean) which was a week long spanning PR, St Thomas, DR, and Haiti (was at Royal Carribbean private resort).

I plan on doing a euro cruise or two and another caribbean cruise. Also, while my son is still relatively young (5 currently) I would like to do a Disney cruise.

                      Re: Cruises

If someone said "here are two vouchers for a cruise free of charge" I would promptly light them on fire or just say no thanks. Being on a boat in the middle of the ocean is not my idea of a good time. Too many things can go wrong and I've heard of too many things going wrong. Pirates, weather, running aground, getting sick. If you like cruises more power to you, just not my type of fun I guess.

Went on a Crystal Cruises vacation in 2011. Amazing.

Cruises are incredible. You get to do the things I love doing most ALL DAY----sleep and eat.

i liked it when the boat was docked.
I got bored of being on the boat really quick.
The food makes you go to the bathroom like 4/5 times a day. not fun.

also next time we go, we are making sure the alcohol is included.
we only went from boston to bermuda and between the 2 of us, we spent $700 on the cruise card.
