Two week notice letter for a transfer

I found plenty of Google hits for how to write a two week notice for leaving to a new company or resigning, but I am just moving to a different area of our company. So I was trying to figure out what to put in a letter for that type of leave. The manager knew it was coming and might actually have been told by my new director, but I still wanted to write a letter along with telling him. Heck, do I even need to do one in this case or should I just tell him in person? It will be more out of professional courtesy then them struggling to replace me.

Never been in this situation but I would think just telling him in person would be fine. Youre just going to a different part of the company so I dont see any reason to write a letter.

Yeah no need to write a letter at all. You could just send him a "Deal With It" meme in e-mail.

When I left my last job I typed out a notice and turned it in, in person. That's different, though. If you're just going on to a different part of the company, just thank 'em in person and move on.

This is going to end up being the new troll word real soon lol

Anyway just moving to a different department or whatever, just talk to the person, its not really necessary to write a letter ... i've moved to different places in my current company and never had to do that.
