Another thing is maybe/hopefully law enforcement is feeding certain things or false info to the media for tactical reasons.

They're surrounding an address (don't know if it's house or not) and are relocating the media. No indication if the suspect is in there or not, but the cops are at least suspicious.

The house they were surrounding had an open cellar door, that's why it was suspicious, but they cleared it. The two newest suspicions are:

An officer has spotted a black truck with no front plate, and he ran the back plate through dispatch and it's a switched plate. They're not doing anything yet because they don't want to arouse suspicion.

In addition there's a ladder propped up against a house with a pallet on top, but it was not there an hour ago. The state police are going to fly over the house, and they're sending in a tac team.

I still don't understand how we haven't gotten this kid yet. Also where are you some of you guys listening to police scanners? I know some fire wire websites also carry a police feeds.

The goal here isn't to do something as fast as possible. It's to do it as safely as possible. You shouldn't want instant gratification when lives are at stake.

Yeah, police got a call from a woman saying that her daughter texted her that she was being held by a man with a gun. WOAH. This might be at the house with the ladder, but the ladder leads to the roof and the windows connected to the roof are still in tact.

According to the scanners now they're calling it a house of interest.

They're also sending an EOD to the post office where they found a suspicious package.

If you're referring to the original SUV the police found that abandoned.

They're calling the ladder house, hoping the suspect is in there and will pick up.

Wow, what a turn of events.

I was in this thread late last night when Beantown reported the 7-11 robbery and the MIT officer shot and killed.

Little did I know those two incidents were connected to the marathon.
