    Art/Drawing Thread

Can we get a drawing/art thread up in here?

Post your drawings or whatever your working on. I'd like to say that I'm fairly talented as long as I actually have motivation, but it hasn't always been that way.

Freshman year I used to be terrible at drawing. My artwork was awful. But I stuck through it and now I consider myself to be a talented artist.

    Some of my work:

    Re: Art/Drawing Thread

I've ALWAYS sucked at art/drawing and stuff(Art class I hated, cause back when I was little, it was always the class that brought down my average, at least until French class arrived lol(I remember the first day of french class, we were supposed to have art class, but it got replaced by french, we were so happy at first, little did we know what would come of it....)

I remember in grade 6 my teacher gave the class a drawing book(so that ppl could do stuff when bored/won't write on the desks since they got a book), lol I used to draw so much random/crazy stuff. I still remember drawing out abunch of DBZ stuff(specifically the tournament arena and goku), lol is it sad that the best looking thing I ever drew happened when I was like 11.....

Prob cause I had lots of motivation to draw it and stuff and was working on that pic for like half the school year

I have a Maurice Clarett drawing framed up on my wall back home that I did while in high school art class. Easily my best drawing as I was never any good.

      Nice artwork tyklug.

              Re: Art/Drawing Thread

I used to draw non-stop, paint, all that and even was in school for graphic design, but I don't know if I got burnt out or what, but haven't drawn in a while and ended up switching my major. I don't know, but I feel like going to school for it made me lose my passion for it, because it wasn't something that was just being done naturally, it then became work which I didn't like.

I need to get back into it.

My imagination went to crap the older I got. That's my reasoning for having the same experience as you. Now it's more about time than anything else, but I wouldn't mind getting back into it. Still love seeing great work though... especially pencil or pen.

As do I, and definitely think getting old has played a part.

Full time job and other time consuming responsibilities don't allow me as much free time as I would like in a day.

I think I drew a couple shaded boxes on my notepad in a meeting the other day, but don't think that is worthy of a share lol

Yeah I lost my passion for it when I felt like I ran into a brickwall as a kid and never had any support or any kind of direction basically.

Thing is, it takes a really long time to draw something worthwhile but the doodling thing youre speaking of I still do too all the time lol.

I've been talking to wwharton about drawing for some months now, and actually went and bought a bamboo drawing tablet. Still dont know how to use that thing really but im going to post my first pic soon... I was going to start this exact thread myself because of it.

I just need to finish the background, and again its much different than pencil so knowing what to do is just as important as lining up the cursor which is a major pain.

                    Good thread

                      Re: Art/Drawing Thread

Maybe this thread will inspire me to get back into it.

It is indeed rather time consuming though. I think the last actual huge piece of art I did was a poster design for a club in Texas and that was a long while ago.

During college I had tried to start my own design business, but again, I lost my desire to do it everyday and then real world kicked in.

I still do small stuff here and there but nothing like I used to do.

I've always admired the people that can do the drawings via Illustrator/Photoshop. I just was starting to learn the basics of Illustrator when I switched majors, so didn't get to dive in too deep, but I still have a pretty good handle of working within photoshop.

Never learned to use any of that... I have 3 basic programs though, but the one I am using right now is Art Rage.

Im sure I can get alot more out of it than what I am because I dont know how to use half the stuff on it, but maybe my start from the dust amateru pics will make you realize how good you had it

I used to draw/paint/sketch all the time until I graduated college. Now I just can't seem to find the time. Maybe, because of this thread, I will try to start up again this summer...

I want nothing to do with art anymore... It makes me depressed and sad to see good art (or any damn art at all).
