Whats so depressing about it?

1. I never got any good at it

2. The majority of teachers and artist I have met were mean and nasty for no reason

3. I compare myself unfairly to anyone better than me, which makes me depressed... On top of already being depressed over stuff.

Then art is not your problem. No one taught me when I learned, i just practiced alot. I believe I took a ream of paper and started trying to draw nba players and chaotic fight scenes (think the ps3's first kill zone video chaotic but with swords). By the time school started back, I began to get real good at what I was doing.

It takes alot of time as you can see people here alluding to, and you can pick up good nuggets from teachers but they wont totally teach you. My teachers IMO were mostly weird.

I may have had an art teacher and class, but I didn't learn anything in it, other than work ethic. I mainly just taught myself how to draw. It's just a lot of practice and patience.

All that my art teacher has told me to do for 4+ years are the types of projects. I'm in charge of everything else.

Ok ill start. This is my first pic ever using a tablet to draw. Very difficult to use plus i have no idea what I'm doing totally but this is my first work in progress

I just saw a picture and said okay ill start with that... I was just doing stuff and figured out a couple of features but not nearly enough to know what im doing, but like I said thats a hard WIP

Ive stayed away from deviant art for a long time because i feel like it is impossible to get that far at this point and I know plenty of those guys can make money on what they do

Never have, I'm not that great of an artist. My bro in New York wants to put em in a gallery though
