I’ve been on a heavily loaded C-5 doing a Tactical Climb out of Ballad AB in Iraq, with multiple vehicles in the cargo bay. Believe me, the entire time you are climbing you are also praying, “Lord, please let the Load Master have done a good job”. These poor guys. All it takes is for one strap, one chain to break and its all over. Absolutely nothing the pilot can do. Their families are in my prayers.
