    Office chairs

Anyone have a really good office chair they can recommend? I am about to start working from home and my 8 year old faux leather chair isn't gonna cut it when I am sitting for 8 hours a day.

I have a VERY bad back due to injuries and several major surgeries. Invest in an Aeron chair. It's a LOT of money, but there is simply no better chair out there, and if you have a bad back, you'll never regret the purchase.

Aeron—the original innovative work chair, designed for all types of human bodies, thanks to the extensive research of designers Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick nearly 30 years ago. Updated today with ocean-bound plastic and featuring more than 50% recycled material.

You can occasionally find them about $200 to $300 off on CraigsList if you're looking to save $$$.

I work from home 5 days a week and this is the chair I use:
Find your ideal seating position easily with the WorkPro Quantum 9000 Series Mid Back Desk Chair. The seat back of this mesh desk chair raises or lowers with a ratchet the seat can be adjusted in height and depth and the armrests are fully adjustable so you can truly customize your seat to fit you. With mesh fabric this comfy office chair promotes airflow to help you stay cool and comfortable while tackling your to do list. Plus the lumbar feature supports your lower back while the waterfall seat cushion helps reduce the stress on your legs to keep you comfortable from your first cup of coffee until you head home at the end of the day.

The back is comfortable and since the seat is mesh, I never get overly hot. I've had it about 6 months without any issues.

*edit... Looks like it's a near carbon copy of that aeron chair. Take that for whatever it's worth.

At my last unit they spent like $800 on each chair that looked like the ones posted. I didn't like them and I used the old ones but I also don't really care about back support even though we had 12 hour shifts

I actually had that one at my last gig (company bought, not me). It's like the Aeron from a mesh perspective, but it doesn't have as many adjustments. That would be my 2nd chair to pick for the price, but for lumbar support issues, I'd still go to the Aeron if possible.

This is as close as I could find to the chair have. It's almost 2 years old and still holds up, I use it between 6-10 hours a day at least, every day. Many times I'll use it instead of sitting in the lazy boy that's just a few feet away.
When your to do list is packed from start to finish its essential that your workspace is comfortable enough to help you stay focused all day long. A heavy duty office chair with sleek bonded leather upholstery cushions you in comfort so you can stay efficient and productive.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!
