What is it with robbing banks?
Seems like every time I turn on the local news, a bank has been robbed. What's the deal? Has it gotten easier or crooks are just getting braver?Tags: None -

One and done = you'll get away with it more often than not.
Serial offender = you're pretty much screwed.

Re: What is it with robbing banks?
It's not a secret that banks don't arm themselves and they don't let employees attempt to stop robberies. Policies dictate that employees simply follow the demands to preserve safety.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

You instantly become a full on BroKing if you rob a bank, which makes slamming dimes pieces incredibly easy.

Everyone managed to rob the bank in GTA IV and figured if they survived that hell, a real bank robbery is a cakewalk.Comment

Re: What is it with robbing banks?
Banks no longer put up a fight for the most part. You don't even have to have a gun, you can simply write a note and slip it to the teller. To the banks, losing $4,000 in cash is easier to handle both accounting and PR wise than being on CNN because 3 tellers have been shot and 14 customers are being held hostage for 18 hours.
However, anyone thinking about doing it is absolutely crazy. When you steal from a bank, the FBI is on the case. They don't exactly take this stuff lightly, either investigating or prosecuting it. You can expect 20 plus years of hard time WHEN you are caught.
That's why it's only done by people that are desperate and at the end of their rope. With the economy the way it is, there are a lot more desperate people these days.Comment

That isn't really always true. You have a good number of criminals that commit crimes for the adrenaline rush. They aren't always desperate and at the end of their rope. They just need that rush in their lives.Comment

Re: What is it with robbing banks?
People generally don't rob banks for the thrill of it. They do in movies, but Daniel Ocean doesn't live in the real world.Comment
