I would not suggest trying this at home!

After just 2 months with my 2013 Fuji Roubaix Road Bike, Ive decided to trade it up for a 2014 Scattante 350 Cyclocross!

I decided I did not want to be limited only to the road and wanted to be able to jump off road if/when the chance came.

You just cant do that with a roadie!

Sweet bike! How much did that set you back? I'd like to get something like that myself.

I need to take my bikes in for a tune-up before the winter is over, so they are ready to go when Spring arrives.

Its actually an even trade at this point.
My Roubaix was on sale for $650 from $1200 and that CX350 is on sale for $600 from $1300.
So Im gonna take the extra $50 and buy some road tires for it.

Performance Bicycle has some incredible deals right now!

I just traded in my Roubaix and ordered the CX350.
It should be available next week.

With the difference, I was able to buy 2 road tires, 1 extra inner-tube and 2 multi-tools for our saddle bags.

            Not a bad deal!

Here's the specs on the CX350...

I commute to one of my jobs, only 2.3 mi away. I also have an electric bike, so it literally takes me less than 10 mins to get to work.

That's awesome. I'm hoping to move a little closer to my job this summer so that I can ride my bike to work a few days a week. Where I'm at now, the route is very hilly and would likely take 45-55 minutes one-way.

I remember when I used to ride my bike to work every day.
People thought I was nuts but I had no choice. I didnt have a car!

I wish I could do that now, but my job is 26 miles away and I live in Chicago and now is NOT the best time to be riding in Chicago!

Back then I had a Trek 800 Antelope.
This was not my bike, but very similar to it....

I just got a Motobecane Jubilee Trail

Had one of my welders build me a deer & equipment cart, to pull with the bike.

Which I use to get deep in the woods for hunting season. Much more quiet than a ATV.

This past weekend location from 20 feet up. Nice clearing to stick a deer. Nice food plot over my shoulder, and well traveled depression by deer.

So yes, I love my bike

I assume you got that from BD.com?

I was looking at a Motobecane but chose to go local rather than online so I could get the service local provides.

                      And cons to the Motobecane?

It was given to me, so I got lucky in that regard.

As far as the bike, I love it. Handles great, smooth shifting, etc. I don't know a ton about bikes to get into fine details, but the only issue I have is the 26" tires.

If I'm turning the wheel and pedaling my foot makes contact with the front wheel. Almost like the wheel is to big for the distance between the pedal and tire.

It is possible the frame is too small.

How tall are you? How long is the frame from seat post to neck tube?

Also, make sure the placement of your foot on the pedal is correct.
The large pad just below your toes and before your arch should be what makes contact with the pedal.
You dont want your arch to be stretched over the pedal. That will create major strain on your feet.

I wear cowboy boots 99% of the time even when hunting so yea that is most likely the issue lol. If I wore tennis shoes, I'm sure this would not be a issue.

                              Yeah! Definitely.

Measure the Seat Tube to the Neck Tube. It should be no shorter than 54 cm
If it is, your bike is too small. 52 cm minimum!

Most likely you should be in a 54 cm-56 cm frame. Or somewhere between 20"-22".

I picked up my Cross bike today and it is beautiful!

I cant wait until this F-ing wnter is gone and I can hit the streets again.

I swear, the first day over 40° and Im hitting the road.
Right now its hooked up to the indoor trainer.

                                I'll post a pic tomorrow.
