Well I'm a married man and my wife definitely gets irritated. I have to compromise no doubt. I try to get it in when everybody is asleep. It helps that I work 12p-12a and when I get off most of the time they are sleep. But she def not feeling it lol.

Tell her you could be doing a lot worse things than gaming, things like going to strip clubs, bars, hanging out with other women, etc. Just put it into perspective for her, works for me.Atlanta area native and sports enthusiast. Aspiring NBA journalist.

Been with my wife for 7 years. In the beginning she hates my gaming but now doesn't mind it. She understands that I don't go out to the bars or anything anymore so gaming is something I really enjoy doing.
Best thing I did was schedule a night to play. I tell her that Friday night is gaming night, she watched TV and plays on her ipad and in mowing dudes down in Gears 3.

Re: Women vs. Xbox and Playstation
My wife and I have an understanding when it comes to gaming. I tend to play when there are no shows on we like to watch together. She will play with her tablet, or crochet and watch, while I get a game or two in. I did manage to convince her to join my OD. She is decent, playing coach mode. The part I is like, is she figured out how to trash talk using comments on the dynasty wire. She is a sore winner. HahaComment

Re: Women vs. Xbox and Playstation
I have a few hours at home before she gets home, whenever I get done with whatever I'm doing when she gets home the xbox gets turned off. We spend from the time she gets home to bedtime together doing whatever. On the weekends I'm normally up before she is and am able to get a few games in. I also get some games in on the weekend during the evening if nothing is going on. It's always a good idea to go to bed together.NFL - Indianapolis Colts

Re: Women vs. Xbox and Playstation
Someday when you have kids you'll learn to appreciate "The Playstation, Move!"
No, I'm not talking about the controller that looks like an ice cream cone. I'm referring to the all-to-often repeated phrase used in the most sarcastic of tones... "Uh...hello? I'm playing The Playstation, Move!"
In some circles, 'The Playstation Move' is an actual tactic used by gamers who are bobbing side-to-side in order to see the screen while children, wives and animals walk between you and the television screen.Won't change my sig until the Seattle Seahawks win the Super Bowl...wait, that happened ! Re: Women vs. Xbox and Playstation
NCAA has caused many a fight between my wife and I. Maybe I get too emotional, but if I just lost a big game and my National Title hopes are ruined, she might as well not attempt to communicate with me the rest of the day.
I was 11-0 w/ FSU going into the Florida game last year. I was up 17-0 on the road, ended up losing 23-20. "It's just a game" she says.Won't change my sig until the Seattle Seahawks win the Super Bowl...wait, that happened ! Let's win another one! Go Hawks!!Comment

Re: Women vs. Xbox and Playstation
Like most of the guys have said, it really comes down to compromise along with doing it at the right times. For instance I work 3 12's (8am-8pm) along with going to the gym and everything else during the week, but on the back side I have 3 days off and I try to get my gaming fix in during those days while she's at work. And on the days I do work, I usually watch her shows with her till they go off, which is usually about ten or eleven and then she promotes me to play because she says it helps her sleep and relaxes her.
It also helps if you allow them to become involved with the game while you're playing. Like my girlfriend love's helping me recruit players and writing down certain stats for me. For example I like to keep track of how my team has progressed since I first started coaching them. So she keeps track of all the Grades each year for me (i.e. championship contenders, program tradition, etc). Or when I go to the "Player's Leaving Screen" she loves writing down the names of potential future NFL draft picks and their key stats. A couple years ago there was one player she had me recruit in NCAA that made it to madden and she was very stuck on me picking him. Needless to say she was made because I didn't pick him first, even though he was a 5th round pick. I still drafted him but she claims I "hurt his feelings" haha.
The only game she doesn't like me playing is COD, and it's because I cuss, yell, and get pretty mad while playing it and she gets tired of it. lolNBA Chicago Bulls

Re: Women vs. Xbox and Playstation
My wife doesn't care if play but at the same time, she'll always find a way to get into the bonus room (where the ps3 is) while I play and love up on me. Thus breaking my concentration.
Now, I play while I'm on the treadmill after work (coach mode before you even ask) combining something I want to do with something I need to do. So every time I walk on the treadmill is another opportunity to get a game in. Been doing this for almost two weeks now.

Re: Women vs. Xbox and Playstation
The key is like others have said compromise... also it's helps if your woman has to have a hobby too. I'm lucky because my wife enjoys making and selling these reborn dolls. So when I'm wasting hours upon hours playing video games in my "Man Room" she's in her Craft Room making dolls and generating income for the household.
Occasionally, she will get burnt out on making them (especially during the slow time of the year), but she will spend her time reading or playing games like Candy Crush on her Kindle or phone. We've been together for a little over five years. I can count the times she's complained about me playing too many video games or asked me not to play on one hand. Hell, I'm 33 years old and I actually play more video games now than I ever have.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
