Small world... A real life OS encounter

I got a PM from The Chef today. He asked me if I was in a Washington Walmart yesterday at around 5 PM.

He said he thought he saw me. He wasn't completely sure, but I confirmed it when I said that I was shopping at Walmart yesterday with my 3 year old boy.

He recognized me from an M's shirt and the red Nebraska hat that I was wearing. He understandably didn't come say what's up because he wasn't 100 percent sure that it was me.

Crazy. Turns out that we only live 15 minutes away from each other. We're going to grab a beer and catch a game soon.

Just thought this was worth sharing... Pretty cool. What a small world!

    Awesome!

I met up with Sportsforever once and we went to a Cubs vs. Padres game in San Diego. Actually, I met him once before that because I gave him a copy of The Show or something, I can't really remember. I met a few OS'ers that way.

Another one that I met that way was franch1se. Then both of us coincidentally met up again at our mutual friend's home presentation for a pyramid scheme.

It's kind of a cool thing to meet OS'ers. We've always talked about meeting up somewhere, but unfortunately I'm not going to leave the state for that (except Vegas, but I bet some of you are too hardcore for me haha).

      That's cool.

It's just crazy because it wasn't planned obviously... We were just at the same place at the same time.

That definitely is cool. Actually, I think Sportsforever and I were both at the same Padres game separately once, and he witnessed me catch a foul ball. It's just all a small, small world haha.

Nope, I didn't get to live on campus. I lucked out because SDSU started requiring applicants north of SR-56 to live on campus.

I know you were in Chappy for a while.

Ha, I didnt realize you made a thread. Yeah I was there with the girlfriend picking up a few things on our way home and swore it was you but wasnt quite sure how you approach someone and not sound like a creep/weirdo/stalker lol so I figured Id just PM you when I got home that night. Definitely a small world, been on OS for a real long time and never ran into anyone from here before, and having recently moved up here, albeit a year ago, so I dont know a soul up here besides my girl and her family so its nice to meet someone with similar interests obviously. Like I said in the PM, I wont hold it against you that your a Seahawks fan, being a Niners fan means we are kinda at odds lol. Anyways, yeah Id love to grab a beer sometime and catch a game.

Thats cool, I've often wondered if I've run into OSers out in the world.

That's awesome! I know we have quite a few of us in the Metroplex. I think I'll have to round up the troops one day. I mean hell, we spend most of our days talking to each other. Might as well meet up. Lol.

ExtremeGamer is the only member here that I know for a fact I have been in the same room as. I didn't approach him either, though, as he was with his family and I was with a few of my buddies and we're all long-haired, tattooed troublemaking types. Plus, I had a few drinks in me at the time so I didn't want to scare the living **** out of him.

I went to a SmackDown that OSUFan_88 said he was going to once. I remember offering to meet up and buy him a beer at a local spot before the event. He didn't take me up on the offer.

I don't have any OSers that are even remotely close to me except for AA, Fish, and sometimes Husker and Husker knows exactly where I work at.. lol.

I don't spend much time in Birmingham except for work anyways.

There really isn't much going on that would attract anyone. I do go to a lot of Barons games, but I haven't been out bar hopping in Birmingham in a good little while.

I like to go out with something to do (Bowling, pool, ball game, etc.). In the future, there's no telling where I'll be at so I'm sure I'll be close to some OSers eventually. I hope if my home port is in the US, I'm near a City with some professional sports teams.

It's amazing how no matter how many miles separate us all from each other we are still a very strong community. We have all helped each other through personal struggles and tough times. We have all shared laughs together and have offered advice to each other. I really believe that O.S is one of if not the Greatest community out there because of how close everyone is here. I'm still hoping for a real Life O.S convention/Meet up in Vegas but even if that doesn't happen we will still all talk to each other through the interwebs.
