I think this was the OP's original intent but multiple locations would be far more logistically possible than just one. My thoughts would be LA, Chicago, Baltimore and somewhere in Texas.

Charlotte doesn't sound too bad and Atlanta would be a breeze.

It's roughly 6 1/2 drive for me and 3 day car rental would cost me under $100.00 for something really fuel efficient. My truck is the opposite of fuel efficient and plane tickets are expensive.

I can get to Atlanta in 2 1/2 hours.

I actually priced Vegas and I just don't think I can swing the flight, room, and cost of entertainement right now.

There's OSers I'd like to meet from all over, so having an East/West meeting would defeat the purpose for me personally.

The challenge is figuring out how to accommodate as many people as possible. When there's a will, there's a way.

One idea is that the "travelers" can come to the "locals". Whatever location is most common among the "locals" could be where we meet. Then decide a central location within that region. Thoughts?

Does Atlantic City have a lot of convention space the way a Vegas does? I think the best idea would be to actually book it as if it's an actual convention. Don't know how expensive that would be though.

I hear ya and totally agree with you. Your idea makes complete sense.

Was thinking though, in case some OSers can't travel far for some reason, then they could coordinate a regional meet for them... Just a thought only...

However, I am all for traveling anywhere to meet...

I'm sure they do, but at the places worth staying at (Borgata/Harrah's/Tropicana/Revel) the price would be crazy.
