    Anyone know anything about computers

Soooo, I'm having this annoying *** problem with my laptop, anytime I watch a video it freezes my whole computer. I don't understand what's going on, I can watch some videos fine, and then all the sudden it happens, it usually lasts a good minute and a half, and then it catches itself. In the process of freezing. It makes a loud errrrrrrrrrrrr sound. This is really frustrating.

Now I've done everything I can think of to try to fix this. Updated my driver, updating all flash players, virus scans, deleting memory, etc...

So anyone have any ideas, or is my driver just going to hell?

Notes: Using Google Chrome, but tested it on other browser, It seems to happen on youtube the most, but that's only a theory, I turned off harware accelerator, it did nothing. It also seems to happen in Hd videos, but still not sure. I'm running with Windows 7, maybe I got a buggy update, i really don't know.

Sounds like a dying hard drive, soon to be corrupted operating system, or even bad memory chip.

What kind of computer is it? You can go to the manufacturer's site and see if they have any updates for it that aren't Windows related.

You can also try running some scans to see if there are any errors that can be fixed.

Restart your system, and go into your boot options. There should be a diagnostics option there. Click on that and let the tests run and see if it finds any errors.

If it passes the tests, you can run a System File Checker. Open Command Prompt as an administrator

(Search for CMD > Right Click CMD > Click on Run as Admin)

In the command prompt, type sfc /scannow

Let the scans run and see if any Windows Files are corrupted.

Then you can check if there are any errors on your hard drive by running a Chkdsk.

Click on Start > Computer > Right Click on your C: drive > Properties > Tools tab > Error-Checking

Click on Check now. Check off both automatically fix and scan and then start.

You will get an error stating that disk is in use. Click on Schedule Disk Check and restart your system.

This will run chkdsk. See if it finds any errors.

After all of this, if your system is still freezing on you, you can try running it in safe mode to see if it's one of the driver's your using.

Restart your system and at the Manufacturer's logo, repeatedly click on F8 to get to the Advanced Boot Options.

Select Safe Mode with Networking and your system will start up.

Watch your videos and other activities that you do when this problem happens.

If the freezing stops, that means it's one of your drivers. Reply back if this is the case and we can go through the steps of finding out which is the faulty driver.

Shug, I really appreciate all that, but I think I figured it out. Still testing. Apparently Google Chrome's flash player was conflicting with my normal flash player. so I disabled Chrome's and it seems to be working well now, I've played 4 videos in a row and haven't had any freezes, but this thing's been temperamental anyway, so we'll see. But I think I nailed it.
