But now, after I had my first kid, I could see myself doing this. She is 8 months old, and I have already started walking into the house without her at least 3 or 4 times. if the baby is a asleep back there, you always forget. I have even started putting my cellphone in the back seat just so i remember now.

not sure what this guys deal is, but i can see it happening. Im just so use to being on the move and i never sit still, that i could get caught up in stuff, then realize i left my kid in the car.
Sorry, but I've never forget my child is the car awake or asleep. It's a human, not some eggs or milk. How can you forget she is back there?

So your cellphone is important enough to remember so you pick it back there so you don't forget your 8 month old daughter. WTF?!?

Ive only been a father for 18 months now but my son is ALWAYS on my radar. My world would be over if something bad happened to him. I dont understand some parents.

30 minutes is what's getting me though

30 minutes is a long time..and it says "at least"

I don't know of I go 15 minutes without thinking about my kids. I understand that things can happen, especially when you have multiple children, I'm not about to sit here and act like its impossible...I had to break my car window when my daughter was young because I locked her and my keys in the car messing with my other kid..

          But 30 minutes...I can't fathom that...

Exactly. Both my daughters are grown now but when they were babies etc.. I knew EXACTLY where they were 24/7...
I wasn't the greatest dad I'm sure and I made mistakes but being negligent wasn't ever close to being one of them.

Don't even want to get started on this one.... I can't find even one thought in my brain that could even for one second forget that my child was in the car. I know that I am over sensitive to this issue but crimes against children just send me over the edge. I do not think there is a sentence that could be strong enough for any one who causes the death of child thru negligence.

Ps: I didn't mean don't get me started on the quoted text, I meant on the original post and crime. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
