If so, I'm pretty sure that group is/was a little bit of a running joke in scientific circles.

It's possible there is a "bigfoot" creature out there, I just find it hard to believe. More people would have came across the creature by now, same as the Loch Ness Monster. But like Ubernoob said, look at all the new "creatures" they keep finding in the oceans and everywhere else.
I would love for all of this stuff to be true (Aliens as well) but I just don't buy it.Comment

I don't buy it at all. Sure scientist are finding new species still, but most of them are so tiny and remote, that there was no way for them to have been notice or discovered before.
A creature like Bigfoot would require a pretty hefty food source, of which no evidence can be shown. Also, every picture / video these days have him at about the same height / weight...which would mean there would have to be multiple of these creatures roaming around in the wild to support a population.
With the way scientist can tamper with evidence, the current tech on computers and video editing, photoshop etc...its all still one elaborate hoax.Comment

I just feel like if their actually was one, we would have found it by now. I realize we're still discovering species out there but most of these species we're discovering, aren't rumored to live in the backwoods of the Mid-West. Not ever coming across one alive or especially a dead carcass, just seems a little coincidental for me.Comment
