Re: My dog is dying....
That's good news. Well, good news considering what you thought last night. I really hope Benji is able to make a full recovery. Did the vet have any idea about what may have gotten to him?

Re: My dog is dying....
So glad to hear it!
One of the worst parts about stories like this is the guilt the owner might feel about thinking the pet thinks "He/she didn't love me enough" or what have you. This was the kind of thought that ran through my head when my guinea pig was going through complications at one point... that if she died, she wouldn't have realized we did everything we could to help her and love her.
Your dog obviously knows you love him, but this reassurance (along with living) is incredibly important for anyone's conscience. It's awesome that your dog also knows how to return home, and there's a good chance he'll stay there next time (or one would hope).

Re: My dog is dying....
Nice!
I'm with you Blzer......
When my dog bolts....at first I'm mad at her...but when she isn't responding to my calls...I feel guilty for not checking the fence and gate more often(I had to fence in my entire property....9 acres to keep her in...so it's not a true perimeter fence) and I start to get that feeling of dread.
I'm really glad you got him home.
Going out to give mine some play time now!

Re: My dog is dying....
So glad it worked out and that he is back home. Did you ever found at what he tangled with. I live out in the country and I always worry about my dogs outside. I have seen various wild animals walking thru so my rifle is never to far out of reach of the back door, just in case.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Thanks fellas for all the well wishes. We've had a crazy morning. He's taking a nap right now. I keep checking every couple of minutes.

Re: My dog is dying....
What kind of dog may I ask? They truly are man's best friend. People that never had dogs do not really understand. Glad to see he is safe and doing better.Comment

This is my first ESS (he's 4 now) , we've always had Cocker Spaniels. We are going to have to get a privacy fence. He has too much energy to be in the small fence we previously had.Comment
